💲 How to maximize your SPT income by delegating 💲 With step-by-step tutorial 😊

(Edited)

Because I'm always relatively slow to make improvements to my earning, I've also only recently looked into delegating SPT.

What do you mean by delegating SPT?

Normally, you have to stake your SPT on your own. This increases your Voting Power (SPT Power), so that when you vote on Splinterlands you can remunerate the contributions higher. This will not cost you any SPT itself, instead it will usually flush half of the voted contribution back into your coffers.

Example: You vote with +1 SPT on a contribution. After the period of 7 days has passed, in which you can vote on the contribution with SPT, you and the author will each receive 0.5 SPT.
Very cool, right?
Of course, this is also fun. You can reward the best contributions and have an advantage yourself.

After a few days or weeks, however, it becomes quite tedious to read countless posts every day. If necessary, you have no time for days (like me at the moment, actually I would have to write a term paper for the university right now :D).

But there is the wonderful function of delegating. You can simply entrust someone else with your staked SPT. They can then do the voting for you and you get your share paid out every day.

This could look like this:

One of the best known curators is @monster-curator.
And it's really straightforward to delegate your SPT to them.

Step-by-step

1. Open the drop-off menu under your username

2. Open your wallet

Screenshot 52_LI.jpg

3. Open the drop-off menu next to your SPT

Screenshot 53_LI.jpg

4. Use the "Stake" function

Screenshot 54_LI.jpg

5. Make sure that your name is spelled correctly and stake your SPT.

Screenshot 55_LI.jpg

6. Now you have the same amount as SPT Power. Click the drop-off menu next to SPT Power.

Screenshot 56_LI.jpg

7. As you can see, you can unstake the amount. But now we want to delegate it. So use the delegate function.

8. Be sure that you have spelled the name of the curator correctly. In this case it is @monster-curator. Now press Delegate.

The amount should now be delegated to @monster-curator. The first daily payments should arrive in 1-2 days.

Which turnover can be expected?

According to my quite short experience, the annual turnover will be around 25% of the initial deposit. I get about 3 SPT per day on a deposit of about 4500 SPT. That is 3*365=1095 SPT per year, so about 24.3%. Of course, this value can fluctuate. The advantage is, this income is passive and can even be reinvested to get compound interest.

And it also counts to your daily SPS airdrop as normal.

Please note that I am neither a financial nor a Splinterland expert. I am still at the beginning myself and report here only from my experiences with the market. Nobody knows what the future will bring and in which direction the game will develop. So, like any other financial investment, there is always some risk involved.

Hello! I'm very new to crypto and I have no idea what staking is. Can anyone explain it please?

For simple use, staking is a process where you set your cryptocurrencies and provide security to the system.
The advantage is that it gives you rewards. The disadvantage is that you can't sell the staked amount immediately, but are incapable of acting for a certain period of time (depending on the coin) due to the process of unstaking.
For example, I would not stake DEC at this stage because the coin is supposed to be at 1$=1000DEC but is currently at around 1$=500DEC. And I would like to be able to trade the coin from day to day or buy cards with it.
SPT and SPS are promising to continue to rise in price in the future, making them more suitable for the stake process.

I was a bit scared at first, but over 8000 SPT convinced me that you are a nice monster :D

Thank you so much for the kind comment and your upvote :)
I'm still a bit confused about the structure or the exchange between Peakd and Splintertalk itself. I'm also considering writing my posts on Peakd in the meantime. Although I like the layout of Splintertalk more, but apparently some functions are somewhat limited and by the hashtag #spt or #splintertalk my posts come anyway to their destination ^^.

And I also appreciate very much your follow. Thank you very much :)

You are so welcome, and I'm not sure either as to what matters more, but I use PeakD for my posts and then they go to both for sure. Thanks for the follow back, and have a great day! :)
