365 times thanks to everyone in the team of Splinterlands

It happened, the last time I clicked Claim SPS just happened. It seems like those 365 days have flown by, but what a year it has been. Not only was the whole SPS airdrop a huge success, it also changed my life and gave me the opportunity to lay some serious financial grounds for the coming years. The main part of my crypto portfolio stayed within the game of Splinterlands, but thanks to SL I have been able to branch out and invest in other crypto games, which I believe have the same potential as SL.

That said, Splinterlands is still miles ahead in the crypto gaming space and few seem to understand this. Sure, there are other more hyped projects that got lucky during the last NFT bull run and are creating on top of that lucky break, but none have done what Splinterlands has done and keeps doing, spearheading innovation in this crypto gaming industry regardless of the ups and downs this space continues to see. The vision is there and the foundation for the future is continuously being build and getting stronger each day without over-hyping their products. Sure, Aggy sometimes comes along to sing his beloved 'Shove and Push' mantra, but most of the time the game is being worked on silently and steadily, with more and more professionalism.

Like some of you probably know, I have been here since the start and the changes I have seen are just incredible. The art is at the forefront of that, @nateaguila has done an amazing job in finding people who are even better than him at designing these new cards. I personally was blown away by the latest art made by @kudo.

For comparison's sake this was one of the first designs.

Now I am not saying the tree is not beautiful, but let's say the difference is noticeable.

On the decentralised side of things SL keeps innovating as well, with the implementation of nodes being the first step towards becoming the first truly decentralised game. We are still far away from completion, but making this a fully functional decentralised ecosystem would be a huge achievement and could become a model for other games and even other industries in the crypto space.

Even though this game already exists for 5 years now, I often get the feeling we are still at the start of this gaming revolution and Splinterlands keeps leading the way.

A huge thanks for the journey and I am super excited for what is coming.

I see a very bright future ahead.

Bright futures to come and cool to see how it has paid off in the end. That is worth the celebration already.

Are we having the celebration beer in Amsterdam in sept?

Oh, that would be very nice. If it was Splinterfest I would def book a flight. Living in the North of Sweden now, don't know if I will come yet.
