Battle Mage Weekly Challenge: Taking Sides

Introduction

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my Battle Mage Weekly Challenge post featuring the Taking Sides ruleset!

Battle Ruleset

Taking Sides Ruleset forbids the use of Neutral monster cards. Choosing Dragon element is a good choice in this particular ruleset, since it allows the use of more than 1 element. It's worth noting that if your cards in a single element are good enough for particular battle, you might go with just single element team.

Featured battle allowed Water, Earth, Life and Dragon elements to be played with a total mana cap of 25. The ruleset combination was complete with Melee Mayhem and Lost Legendaries rulesets.

My Team

Quix the Devious was chosen maily because he opens up the Dragon element and because of the point of speed manipulation. It's always good to go before your opponent!

Pelacor Conjurer is my frontliner with 7 health and Divine Shield for only 2 mana. It even has insane speed and Flying. Such a good card for the mana cost!

Djinn Chwala is the most expensive creature in my team mana wise. Its got it all: good damage, good health, good amount of shields and ever useful Thorns ability.

Blinding Reflector is another tanky card for its mana cost. 6 health, 4 armor and 2 damage for only 3 mana is hard to pass up when it can attack from any position!

Vulguine is another one of my go-to cards in Melee Mayhem rulesets. It keeps growing bigger due to the Scavanger ability and brings 2 points of damage for 2 mana!

Time Mage is my supporting card in this battle. She brings Rust and Slow while also bringing 2 points of magic damage to the mix.

Naga Assassin is here because of its amazing speed, health and 2 points of damage for 2 mana. She also protects my team from the back due to the Backfire ability.

Battle Strategy

My strategy was to fill upa ll 6 slots with mana efficient creatures while bringing 2 points of speed manipulation with Quix and Time Mage

Battle Rewards

I've noticed quite an increase of SPS from battles this season. I usually receive around 2-3 SPS per win, and was positively surprised when I was awarded almost 5 SPS from this battle. Seems like lower leagues are paying up pretty decently these days. Could be because most of the players are concentrated in Diamond League.

Conclusion

My battle strategy proved to be a good one! Filling up all 6 slots in the battle lineup proved to be good choice this battle. My opponent decided to bring only 3 monsters which proved to be the reason of his/her downfall.
