VENARI KNIFER

Venari Knifers are specialized rogues, assassins, and thieves that make their living through shadier dealings in the Realm of Silence underneath Praetoria. They often work as part of criminal organizations or guilds, taking on contracts to put more gold in their pockets. When the Chaos Legion's agents came to Praetoria, many Venari Knifers saw them as new benefactors for their mercenary work. Using the tunnels that run beneath the surface world, the Knifers move like shadows in the night to strike at their opponents.

Like the rest of their kin, Knifers are masters of tools and technology. They've used their knowledge to perfect the Knifer Rig. A deadly weapon powered by magic and pneumatics, Knifer Rigs consist of six fully articulated blades and rods carried on the back. When not in use, they fold away neatly and unobtrusively. When employed, however, they are silent, speedy, and absolutely deadly.

STATS AND OVERVIEW

I rarely use Venari Knifer, because I have Mylor Crowling. But if you do not have Mylor it can be a nice off tank in the last position. For the main tank there are better alternatives who can be used.

It is a common chaos legion card therefore everyone has it because it is part of the basic cards. I personally do own a copy of it. As you can see in the table below at the moment it is no longer a cheap card as a regural foil nor as a gold foil. I think it is due to the new format (Modern/Wild) and the new DEC reward rules. There are a lot of available copies at the moment.

BATTLE RULESET

image.png

I was in silver 1 at the time of the battle. As you can see I had an nice ruleset.
Rules:

Battle modifiersMana capAvailable splinters
Reverse Speed40Water
Up Close & Personal-Earth
--Death

BATTLE LINE UP

MYLOR CROWLING

Give any melee favoring ruleset and Earth splinter I always choose this summoner. It's Thorns ability makes it a real anti-melee summoner. Monsters that has Thorns will deal 2 damage for each melee attack it gets.

MYCELIC INFANTRY

Mycelic Infantry my number one tank for the Earth splinter if the ruleset favors melee. Because it has the Shield ability so it will reduce incoming melee or ranged damage by 1. In this ruleset it exceptionally shines, because of it's low speed.

VENARI KNIFER

Venari Knifer this weeks challenge card. Because of my summoner I used this as an off tank in the second row, in case somehow Mycelic Infantry dies it can still hold for hopefully 2 rounds.

SAND WORM

Sand Worm it is a must to use with these rulesets. It shines with Reverse Speed. It's 5 damage is huge in every scenario, but normally it often misses, however it's not the case given this ruleset. It's a devastating card if you use it well.

DISINTEGRATOR

Disintegrator one of my faviourite cards in case of melee heavy rulesets. It has the Demoralize ability which reduces the enemy melee attackers attack by 1. It is a huge advantage, another card which is a must in melee heavy rulesets.

HILL GIANT

Hill Giant is my off tank in the last row. It is guarding my Disintegrator. It has 1 speed which is the best in Reverse Speed battles and it has nice health pool as well.

THE BATTLE

ROUND 1

image.png

As you see 4 turns have passed, monsters gained buffs and debuffs in both teams. My team started the battle because we had lower speed. Mainly thanks to Sand Worm my team dealt more damage in the first round.

ROUND 2

image.png

As you can see in the second round every monster was still alive.

ROUND 3

image.png

The first monster died when we started the 3rd round. It was my enemy's off tank in the last row. Also his tank is about to die as it has only 1 health alongside with it's sneaky monster.

ROUND 4

image.png

Round 4 and my team is holding up well. Mycelic Infantry lost it's shield, but my enemy's tank is dead already. He lost 3 monsters, while I did not lose any.

ROUND 5

image.png

Mycelic Infantry still holding all have all my monsters in this round the enemy was able to do only 1 damage.

ROUND 6

image.png

Final round as you can see only one enemy monster survived this long. All of mine were alive. Mycelic Infantry shined throughout the whole battle.

Link to the battle

Did my strategy work?

Yes, I won the battle. It was a nice win my plan was a success, I enjoyed it.

image.png

What will I try differently next time?

Given this ruleset I would not change my lineup. I know that it was a risky tactic, but sometimes you have to risk to win.

Thanks for the reading, I hope you enjoyed, see you on the battlefield!

Thanks for sharing! - @lenonmc21

Your battle post is fine, good job, your format is also fine, but you can keep improving and varying it.
