Splinterlands SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge w/ FERAL SPIRIT!!
Hey everyone! I'm back with another weekly battle. This week, we'll be taking a look at Feral Spirit from the Life splinter.
If you're not familiar with the challenege, you can check out all the details HERE.
Let's go check out some lore!
LORE
Forever caught between dimensions, the Feral Spirits (and all Luminous Beasts) are the result of the Obliteration of Light, a horrible destructive event in which all the living vanished from the surface of Khymeria. These spirits do not hunger or thirst, but their fangs still bite and their claws still slash.
STATS & ABILITIES
SNEAK | Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster |
---|
Feral Spirit is a speedy monster, even at level 1. You'll find yourself a little more comfortable with 3 HP starting from level 3. For those of you heading up to max silver, you're not going to see anymore HP, but with 6 speed, you'll be too fast for most monsters to hit.
RULESETS TO WATCH OUT FOR
REVERSE SPEED | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks |
---|
Avoid using Feral Spirit in this ruleset at all costs. Due to its Speed, there's a pretty high chance that it will be eliminated before it even attacks.
FOG OF WAR | Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities |
---|
You could still use Feral Spirit here, but without Sneak, there's better options available.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY | All Monsters have the Opportunity ability |
---|
You'll want to be careful using Feral Spirit in the Equal Opportunity ruleset due to its lower health. If you absolutely have to use it, try placing some lower health monsters in front of it to soak up some damage and keep it going a little longer.
RULESET
STAMPEDE | The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed. | |
---|---|---|
LITTLE LEAGUE | Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles. |
OPPONENT
This week, I'll be facing @luckyjace in ranked Silver. Their previous 5 battles tell me they've been playing magic, ranged, and thorns with decent attackers in the rear tank position. I'll also need to watch out for strong first position tanks.
STRATEGY
I want to use something with no attack in my first position to avoid any thorns and use my backline to pick their lineup apart. Feral Spirit will take up Sneak duty and hopefully take out whatever crucial part of their lineup is in the rear while the rest of my team works on them from the other direction.
LINEUP
I'm planning on using some ranged attackers so adding +! to their Ranged attacks with General Sloan will work well.
I'll throw Pelacor Conjurer in the first position to soak up some damage and reflect and magic attacks I might run into.
I placed Feral Spirit next because its 5 Speed will most likely keep it in the battle longer than Venari Spellsmith's 4 HP once Pelacor Conjurer is elimintated.
Back again on Amplify duty is Venari Spellsmith. This card has been getting a TON of play lately. This time I placed him right behind Feral Spirit.
One of my favorite cards, Halfling Alchemist, takes up the next spot. This card shuts down opponents and wins battles with a quickness!
Costing only 4 mana for +3 Ranged, Peacebringer is going to be my main source of damage. Hopefully I don't get hit with any sneak monsters!
On Affliction duty, and bringing up the rear, is Doctor Blight. This is a good addition to any lineup when you're expecting your opponent will be using any type of heal.

THOUGHTS
What a fun battle! Feral Spirit was such an important part of this win. If Coral Wraith weren't eliminated right away, this battle could have had a very different outcome.
Pelacor Conjurer paired with Amplify also worked out well. That was my third Weekly Challenge in a row using Venari Spellsmith, but who's counting?
HOW TO GET YOURS
Feral Spirits can be found for sale or rent in the market. At the time of writing, a BCX 1 Alpha card can be purchased for around $8.40 while a bcx 1 Beta card can be had for around $3.40. There are some cheaper deals out there if you're looking for a higher BCX, but they're starting to become more limited.
