Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge w/ SHADOW SNITCH!!

Hey everyone! I'm back with another weekly battle. This week, we'll be taking a look at the Shadow Snitch from the Death splinter.

Lore

Shadow Snitches are created by the conjurers of the Chaos Legion. Weaving Death magic, they breathe life into beings made completely of darkness. The purpose of the Shadow Snitches is to be deployed into lands prior to the Chaos Legion's invasion. Moving from shadow to shadow, they are listeners and watchers, feeding information back to the Chaos Legion.

But once the invasion is complete, the Shadow Snitches still serve a purpose. They can locate and follow high-value targets, reporting back on movements to Chaos Legion leadership. If needed, Shadow Snitches can also capture prisoners and bring them back for interrogation.

Shadow Snitch sucks.

Things To Watch Out For

Dealing with Thorns can be hard enough, but dealing with an entire team sporting the ability is downright awful! There's nothing saying you can't use Melee monsters against Mylor Crowling, but I'd try a different strategy.

ABILITIES
	Thorns	When hit with a Melee attack, does up to 2 damage back to the attacker
RULESETS
	Back To Basics	Monsters lose all abilities.

Ruleset

	Equalizer	The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
	Even Stevens	Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

Opponent

I'm not familiar with @merrickyarn, but they do have a good win-rate and 24 in a row is no easy task. Let's take a look at their previous 5 battles.

Their previous 5 lineups look pretty solid. They appear to be favoring ranged and sneak monsters lately and I also see they've been using some nice tanks, but this is a lower mana battle so I shouldn't have to worry about them too much.

Strategy

I'm hoping for some card advantage on this one, so I want to make sure I'm using a Summoner that's maxed for Silver League. Other than that, I think I'll just go for more of a balanced team and cross my fingers. #prayNslay

Lineup

I'm not expecting any magic, but my Contessa L'Ament is only level 2, so it was a tossup between Owster Rotwell and Thaddius Brood. In the end, I chose Owster for his 3 Mana cost over Thaddius's -1 Health debuff.

I placed Giant Scorpion in the tank position with the hopes that his thorns will help eat through any kind of tank they're.

Monsters with the Reach ability are most effective in the second position, so that's exactly where we'll find the star of this week's challenge: the Shadow Snitch.

We'll find a Corpse Fiend taking up the next spot. This is mainly to give my Ranged monsters a fraction of a chance longer once my front monsters are eliminated.

For those times when you just want to get dirty, Halfing Alchemist is there for you. Still one of my favorite cards, Halfling makes worrying about high power tanks a thing of the past.

I placed Twisted Jester next with the hopes that it will never make it to the first position. Hopefully that stay's a thing. Fingers crossed!

Thoughts

That battle worked out alright. Owster was able to take the day off while my Giant Scorpion/Shadow Snitch combo picked apart my opponent's front end, and my Twisted Jester handled their backline like a champ.

Overall, I'm not a big fan of Shadow Snitch. I feel like it's a mediocre card at best and there's just better options out there. That's not to say it doesn't have it's place though because it does still tend to work its way into my lineups from time to time.

Shadow Stitches can be found in packs or for sale or rent in the market. At the time of writing, a BCX 1 card can be purchased for around $4. There are some cheaper deals out there if you're looking for a higher BCX, but they're starting to become more limited.
