WEEKLY BATTLE CHALLENGE

This is my posting for the weekly battle challenge using the spineback turtle. Not a card that i have had at my disposal since the change to the new starter deck; instead i just rented one. Plus it took ten battles just to get water and finally get a match i could post with him. Little leagues spineback turtle has always been one of my go to cards as it is a great little tank for only 4 mana, love this card and want to eventually be able to add it to my stack permanently.

My battle:

21 mana, little league and target practice. With options for water, life, death and dragon i figured this was the perfect opportunity to make the level three spineback turtle shine :)

For my team i chose the level 2 kelya frendul, level 3 spineback turtle, level 2 xenith monk, level 2 chaos agent, level 2 elven mystic, and level 1 doctor blight.
Kelya - For the speed boost for alpha strike, and bonus armor
Spineback turtle - As a big 'ol meat shield
Xenith Monk - As a second position tank with self heal to buy some time for my later units
Chaos Agent - With only 1 mana cost and with the bonus armor figured it could take at least two snipe hits, and with the evade skill may even dodge more
Elven Mystic - magic damage
Dr Blight - magic damage and affliction if they took a healer

Looking at the past history of the player i was facing i was banking on a water play, maybe even dragon (doubted that though). So magic should be a good play to not worry about armor and just tank out the melee and roast him down.
I couldn't have been more mistaken, as soon as i saw Owster's picture appear for him I knew I was in trouble, with no history of magic reflect i was not expecting that at all.

So their cards drop and i see:
Owster - magic reflect
Giant Scorpion - Meat shield
Chicken - absorb one hit/snipe
Riftwing - scavange/meatshield
Venari Bonesmith -magic damage with life leech
Lifesapper - magic damage with life leach
Screaming Banshee - magic damage

With a heavy sigh i knew i played too conservative at an attempt at a long game and now i was going to suffer the consiquences.....and i was right. My damage in front wasn't able to punch trough the riftwing halfway through the match and my magic offence was obliterated by the reflect.
Looking back i should have changed the second tank (xenith monk) for something with either sneak, opportinuty or snipe because i just wasted the spot as he died without even sending off an attack until round 4 that was my biggest error, also the dr blight didn't help much as they had life leach instead of healing. I usually play more agressive but decided to switch it up since that was how i was playing my previous matches.
Even through losses we can make ourselves better as we analyze our game play and figure out our fatal mistakes so that we grow as a player; I welcome the losses with the wins (not going to lie though i would rather just get the wins all in all ;) )
