Chaos Legion Initial Card Opening - How Did I Go?

What a week for Splinterlands fans. The long waited Chaos Legion finally out with many enthusiastic long term supporters and new players waiting to get their hands on the first new set of cards. As many new players have mentioned, the older edition of cards can be pricey so this is the opportunity for them to start fresh and build a nice deck to be competitive on the battlefield. Although I had access to the test net and seeing all these new cards from different channels, it is totally different the moment you open those card packs you own and bought with the vouchers from the first round of presale. A part of me didn't want to open any card packs from the test net server incase I use up all my luck on them and once I get to the real thing, I may not get any of the good cards I potentially could get. Call me superstitious but I haven't opened any packs for so long, don't want to risk those odds.
I have opened around 100 packs haven't opened gold legendary cards yet but I have received 8 ordinary foil legendary which is really good odds considering I didn't get have this type of luck in previous packs. I did use potions for all options so if you are opening packs, its a must you have both potions available. It is highly recommended potions are there to increase the chances of opening a legendary or gold card, you don't want to miss those opportunities. At the moment, I am in love with the 0 mana legendary cards. It's perfect for low mana games, add these on plus the chicken to fill up those empty spaces.
Next up would be my gold cards. I did get a number of them with the best one opening an epic gold one called Nerissa Tridawn. Power card for the water splinter for those high mana games. I don't play the water splinter normally except during brawl which comes in handy. The other exciting gold card I received was Tenyii striker. I don't use the red splinter but it would be good as a rental as it seems to be well liked by players who use that Splinter. The rest of the gold cards I haven't studied enough but even if I don't use them, it will come in hand by the time land comes out, would make them as good workers I hope.
I was a bit disappointed I haven't gotten a GFL yet but I've seen people open 150 packs or so to get 1 so I am still hopeful. At this stage with the voucher airdrop, I should be able to aim for more packs this round to avoid the general sale rush just in case knowing my luck. I do also want to be in the running for the airdrop card for the 2nd and 3rd million pack so this is one of the biggest investment I've put in for Splinterlands for a long time. With land expansion aiming for Q1 2022, there are so many things to look forward to with the additional Modern/Wild ranked formats making Chaos Legions more attractive to hold or buy at this stage.

Nice draws indeed! After opening 117 packs here no legendary GF here as well but in general not unhappy here as well. When I reach home in a while will start combining some cards to make em more playable and super happy that all to be in all of the remaining airdrops. I guess those ones already will eventually make it all worth it investmentwise
