TORNEIOS

Admito que apesar de estar completando quase 6 meses jogando Splinterlands eu nunca havia me interessado pelos torneios do jogo, simplesmente por não ter conhecimento de como funcionava e se valia a pena participar, até que um dia eu resolvi vasculhar a aba Eventos e obtive a experiência que compartilharei com vocês nesse post.

Os torneios estão sendo o foco principal da equipe do Splinterlands para o crescimento do jogo a longo prazo (palavra dos próprios desenvolvedores) e por conta disso, o sistema envolvendo os torneios é algo bem funcional e intuitivo, facilitando a participação de todos os que quiserem se aventurar nestas terras. Eu irei demonstrar para vocês como funciona o sistema de torneios e depois contar a minha experiência (e falar em que posição eu fiquei).

COMO FUNCIONA?

Ao acessar a aba de Eventos nós damos de cara com os torneios disponíveis (só funciona no navegador, celular ainda não suportado), sendo a maioria deles criados pela própria comunidade.

Cada torneio é feito ao seu próprio estilo, tendo a sua data e horário, suas regras, valores de premiações e custo de participação. Todas essas informações são mostradas logo de cara para facilitar na hora de escolher.

Observando a imagem acima temos todas as informações básicas referentes à esse torneio. Começando pela data e horário, pois você PRECISA estar presente até 15 minutos antes do torneio começar para fazer o check-in, pois somente assim você confirmará a sua participação. Sobre as regras, nele as cartas lendárias não são permitidas e o level das cartas segue a mesma limitação da liga prata, ou seja: comuns até level 5, ratas até level 4, épicas até level 3 e lendárias até level 2 (se as lendárias não estivessem banidas).

O custo de participação é de apenas 1 DEC, enquanto os prêmios podem somar aproximadamente $12,00 (para mais informações sobre a premiação, você pode clicar em View ou Entered).

Dentro da aba View/Entered você terá detalhado todas as demais informações sobre o torneio como a modalidade das disputas, formato de eliminação, detalhes dos rounds, bem como o número de inscritos e uma descrição personalizada do criador daquele torneio (muitos streamers costumam financiar torneios para promover o seu conteúdo como é o caso do autor do torneio que mostrei logo acima).

Com todas essas informações você pode decidir se deseja pagar o valor de entrada para confrontar outras pessoas seguindo as regras definidas do torneio e tentar ganhar as recompensas das primeiras colocações.

INFORMAÇÃO IMPORTANTE

Você precisa estar presente no horário do torneio, pois além do Check-in você tem 5 minutos para montar o seu time em cada Round, e os rounds vão passando até chegar no Roud final (existem exceções no caso de torneios que ocorrem o tempo todo).

MEU PRIMEIRO TORNEIO

Continuando a falar sobre o meu caso. Ao navegar despretensiosamente pela aba Eventos me deparei com um torneio que custava apenas 1 DEC e oferecia prêmios no valor médio de $23,00 (um valor beeem alto por uma entrada praticamente grátis).

Bem, eu estaria em casa no horário do torneio, então porquê não arriscar né? Fiz a minha inscrição e só depois fui olhar atentamente sobre as regras daquele torneio (recomendo a fazerem o inverso kkkk). No caso desse torneio todas as cartas eram permitidas, porém a limitação de level era o mesmo que o da liga bronze. O que para mim é algo bom, afinal não possuo tantas cartas de level alto para competir com a galera pesada que costuma participar de torneios.

abrir os detalhes e observar as recompensas do torneio, percebi que da 1ª até a 40ª posição haviam recompensas em DEC (muito superiores ao 1 DEC pago).

Então eu tinha uma meta: ficar entre os 40ª primeiros colocados. E foi com isso em mente que eu dei início à minha primeira experiência de torneio no Splinterlands.

OS ROUNDS

---

Round Classificatório

O torneio contou com um número bem alto de inscritos (261) e por conta disso houve um Round classificatório em formato md1 (melhor de 1, quem vencer fica com a vaga). Não são todas as pessoas que participam desse round classificatório (não sei dizer quais critérios eles usam para selecionar quem participa ou não) e eu fui uma das pessoas que não precisou participar, passando automaticamente para o round 2.

Round 2

Essas foram oficialmente as minhas primeiras partidas em um torneio, e admito que foram bem fáceis. Consegui duas vitórias seguidas na md3 e garanti a minha passagem para o Round 3.

Ambas as composições que utilizei foram de unidades mágicas, uma composta pelo Splinter de Terra (usando Tank anti-magia e magos suportes) e a outra usando o Splinter de Dragão + Terra (como a mana era muito alta resolvi trocar o Mustang Unicorn pelo Robo-Dragon Knight).

Round 3

Nesse Round eu não obtive uma vitória limpa, pois comecei a melhor de 3 perdendo o primeiro combate. Optei por trazer uma composição de Vida focada em regeneração de escudo, porém uma única carta de magia do oponente conseguiu quebrar a minha formação. Porém as outras duas disputas eu usei uma composição mágica de Terra e na outra uma composição mágica de Dragão + Água novamente fazendo uso do Dragon Knight por conta da alta mana (pelo visto eu sou fã dos magos né? Eles são roubados).

Round 4

A partir desta etapa eu já estava dentre os primeiros 32 colocados, ou seja, a recompensa de 75 DEC já estava garantida (74 DEC de lucro por 5 partidas parece muito bom), então daqui pra frente o meu objetivo era apenas alcançar a maior colocação possível sem me preocupar contra quem eu estava lutando.

As batalhas desse Round foram bem interessantes, pois em ambas o meu oponente utilizou o Yodin e nas duas o seu invocador não foi efetivo pelos seguintes motivos:

Em ambos os casos o Yodin foi superado, tendo o seu dano devolvido em uma e o seu efeito principal sendo irrelevante na segunda. Foram vitórias lindas de se assistir, afinal, vencer Yodin é sempre bom!

Round 5

Já estava dentro do top 16, então nada melhor do que tentar alcançar o top 8 não é mesmo? E com isso em mente eu segui para o próximo combate. Novamente uma disputa de três partidas onde eu me sai vitorioso com 2x1. A primeira disputa foi um vacilo em que eu simplesmente tomei um Llama + Kron sem estar preparado. Nas duas partidas posteriores ele foi completamente vencido, tendo sua Llama counterada e depois a sua composição mágica, garantindo a passagem para o sexto round.

Round 6

Entrando agora nas etapas finais do torneio eu já me encontrava entre os 8 finalistas da competição (e eu entrei apenas desejando ficar no top 40 kkkk). Agora a situação já estava ficando mais séria e só restavam jogadores de alto nível e com cartas bem poderosas no seu arsenal. E tudo o que eu tinha era força de vontade, estratégia e algumas cartas alugadas.

Apesar do receio, as partidas foram tranquilas e eu consegui abrir 2 a 0 contra o meu adversário. Na primeira disputa eu utilizei a clássica composição mágica do splinter de Água. Já na segunda partida as regras de combate tornaram a decisão muito complexa pois afetava diretamente os Splinters que estavam disponíveis.

Na minha opinião, as principais vantagens do Splinter de Terra são as curas das unidades mágicas e a proteção da Queen Mycelia, e ambas as coisas estavam desabilitadas. Da mesma forma o Splinter de Água que não teria a proteção de Armadura da composição usando o Kelya e nem a proteção do Wavesmith. O Splinter de Vida nem se fala né, também estava sem dois recursos muito fortes que suas cartas possuem, tornando as três opções igualmente afetadas pelas regras de combate.

Apesar de toda a dúvida resolvi optar por uma mescla de Counter Magic com unidades de alto dano, e deu muito certo.

E com esse resultado eu consegui já em meu primeiro torneio chegar até a semi final, onde apenas os 4 melhores colocados disputariam para definir quem seriam os finalistas e depois o campeão do torneio. Seria essa a minha hora de brilhar?

Round da Semifinal

Eu estava preparado para ir com tudo (e com certeza o meu oponente também). Na primeira disputa surgiu as seguintes regras do combate (e foi nesses detalhes que o vencedor da md3 foi definido).

Ao observar essas regras, algumas conclusões instantâneas surgiram na minha cabeça. O meu oponente possuía dentre as suas opções o Yodin, enquanto eu não o tinha para utilizar. Porém eu tinha uma carta na manga, porém essa carta estava meio... meio fraquinha.

Essa seria a minha única maneira de derrotar o Yodin, refletindo o dano das unidades do oponente. Porém a ausência de armadura nessa batalha fez total diferença e por pouquíssima coisa eu não consegui vencê-la. ASSISTA A BATALHA e veja o quão emocionante foi essa disputa.

Faltou apenas 1 de vida para conseguir derrubar o Chain Golem e vencer o combate atacando infinitamente com o Sand Worm. Foi quase.

A segunda disputa foi um embate de unidades voadores de baixo custo, e nessa eu consegui levar a melhor montando uma composição mais agressiva que a do adversário.

E infelizmente no terceiro combate eu fui totalmente massacrado. Montei uma composição focada em Taunt e regeneração de armadura, mas o oponente apostou pesado em uma comp completa de magos, o que invalidou totalmente os meus escudos.

E assim eu obtive a minha segunda derrota na disputa e fui eliminado do torneio. Uma derrota amarga pois se a regra Unprotected não estivesse presente na primeira partida, eu com certeza teria ganho... E essa foi a minha experiência no primeiro torneio que participei.

O PÓDIO

Toda essa experiência foi maravilhosa e eu me diverti demais jogando Splinterlands nesse torneio, e além disso, eu consegui conquistar a terceira posição, subindo ao pódio dos melhores colocados e ganhando a incrível recompensa de 500 DEC (para quem estava desejando receber 75, a recompensa ganha foi substancialmente maior).

Também é válido citar que o vencedor do torneio foi aquele que me eliminou, e essa é sempre uma desculpa válida para diminuir o peso da derrota kkkkkkkkkkk. No fim valeu muito a pena ter largado de preguiça e me inscrever em um torneio. Com certeza vou repetir isso.

CONCLUSÕES

Apesar de seres humanos serem meio avessos à mudanças e novas experiências, com certeza nós devemos nos esforçar para sempre dar um passo à frente e buscar por elas. Foi o que eu fiz e isso me levou à uma experiência maravilhosa, tendo me divertido muito nesse torneio e vibrar a cada vitória que eu conseguia.

Eu espero que todos vocês já tenham tido essa experiência, e aqueles que não tiveram, eu incentivo veementemente que o faça pois você não se arrependerá. Se achar que o nervosismo pode ser muito grande, faça como eu e se inscreva em torneios de entrada "grátis" e focados em ligas baixas como Novato ou Bronze e sem lendárias disponíveis, assim todos os oponentes estarão em pé de igualdade e você poderá jogar sem se preocupar com players ultra poderosos caindo contra você.

Devemos todos continuar buscando evoluir pois somente assim nós iremos crescer como players e como investidores, e esse foi um pequeno passo que acabei de dar em busca dessa evolução. Espero que tenham gostado de ler essa experiência compartilhada.

TOURNAMENTS

I admit that despite being almost 6 months playing Splinterlands I had never been interested in the game's tournaments, simply because I didn't know how it worked and if it was worth participating, until one day I decided to search the Events tab and got the experience that I will share with you in this post.

Tournaments are being the main focus of the Splinterlands team for the long-term growth of the game (the developers' own word) and because of that, the system involving the tournaments is very functional and intuitive, making it easy for all players to participate. who want to venture into these lands. I'll show you how the tournament system works and then tell you my experience (and what position I got).

HOW IT WORKS?

When accessing the Events tab, we see the available tournaments (only works in the browser, mobile not yet supported), being the most of them created by the community itself.

Each tournament is made in its own style, having its date and time, its rules, prize values ​​and cost of participation. All this information is shown right away to make it easier to choose.

Looking at the image above we have all the basic information regarding this tournament. Starting with the date and time, as you NEED to be present up to 15 minutes before the tournament starts to check-in, as only then will you confirm your participation. About the rules, legendary cards are not allowed in it and the level of the cards follows the same limitation of the silver league, that is: common up to level 5, rats up to level 4, epics up to level 3 and legendary up to level 2 (if the legendary were not banned).

The cost of entry is just 1 DEC, while prizes can total approximately $12.00 (For more information about the prize pool, you can click View or Entered).

Within the View/Entered tab you will have detailed all the other information about the tournament such as the mode of disputes, elimination format, details of the rounds, as well as the number of subscribers and a personalized description of the creator of that tournament ( many streamers often fund tournaments to promote their content like the author of the tournament I showed above).

With all this information you can decide if you want to pay the entry fee to compete against other people following the defined tournament rules and try to earn the first place rewards.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

You need to be present at the time of the tournament, because in addition to Check-in you have 5 minutes to assemble your team in each Round, and the rounds go on until reaching the final Roud (there are exceptions in the case of tournaments that take place all).

MY FIRST TOURNAMENT

Continuing to talk about my case. While browsing the Events tab, I came across a tournament that cost only 1 DEC and offered prizes in the average value of $23.00 (a very high value for an almost free entry).

Well, I would be at home during tournament time, so why not take a chance, right? I signed up and only then went to look closely at the rules of that tournament (I recommend doing the opposite lol). In the case of this tournament, all cards were allowed, but the level limitation was the same as in the bronze league. Which for me is a good thing, after all I don't have so many high level cards to compete with the heavy crowd that usually participates in tournaments.

opening the details and looking at the tournament rewards, I noticed that from 1st to 40th place there were rewards in DEC (far higher than the 1 DEC paid).

So I had a goal: to be in the top 40. And it was with that in mind that I started my first tournament experience at Splinterlands.

THE ROUNDS

Qualifying Round

The tournament had a very high number of subscribers (261) and because of that there was a Classification Round in md1 format (best of 1, whoever wins gets the spot). Not all people participate in this qualifying round (I can't say what criteria they use to select who participates or not) and I was one of the people who didn't need to participate, automatically moving to round 2.

Round 2

These were officially my first matches in a tournament, and I'll admit they were pretty easy. I got two wins in a row on md3 and secured my ticket to Round 3.

Both compositions I used were magic units, one made up of the Earth Splinter (using anti-magic Tank and support mages) and the other using the Dragon + Earth Splinter (as the mana was very high I decided to change the Mustang Unicorn by Robo-Dragon Knight).

Round 3

In this round I didn't get a clean victory, because I started the best of 3 losing the first fight. I chose to bring a Health composition focused on shield regeneration, but a single opponent's spell card managed to break my formation. But the other two disputes I used a magical composition of Earth and in the other a magical composition of Dragon + Water again making use of Dragon Knight because of the high mana (I'm a fan of mages, right? They are stolen).

Round 4

From this stage I was already among the first 32 places, that is, the reward of 75 DEC was already guaranteed (74 DEC profit for 5 matches seems very good), so from now on my goal was just to reach the highest possible placement without worrying who I was fighting.

The battles of this Round were very interesting, because in both my opponent used Yodin and in both of them his summoner was not effective for the following reasons:

In both cases the Yodin was overpowered, his damage being returned in one and his main effect being irrelevant in the second. They were beautiful victories to watch, after all, beating Yodin is always good!

Round 5

I was already in the top 16, so nothing better than trying to reach the top 8, right? And with that in mind I moved on to the next fight. Again a three-game dispute where I came out victorious with 2x1. The first dispute was a mistake in which I simply took a Llama + Kron without being prepared. In the two subsequent matches he was completely defeated, having his Llama countered and then his magic composition, guaranteeing the passage to the sixth round.

Round 6

Entering the final stages of the tournament I was already among the 8 finalists of the competition (and I entered just wanting to be in the top 40 kkkk). Now the situation was getting more serious and there were only high-level players left with very powerful cards in their arsenal. And all I had was willpower, strategy, and a few leased cards.

Despite the fear, the matches were calm and I managed to open 2 to 0 against my opponent. In the first match I used the classic Water splinter magic composition. In the second game, the combat rules made the decision very complex as it directly affected the Splinters that were available.

In my opinion, the main advantages of Earth Splinter are the healing of magic units and the protection of Queen Mycelia , and both things were disabled. Likewise the Water Splinter that would not have the Armor protection of the composition using the Kelya nor the protection do Wavesmith. The Life Splinter is not even mentioned, it was also without two very strong resources that its cards have, making the three options equally affected by the combat rules.

Despite all the doubts I decided to opt for a mix of Counter Magic with high damage units, and it worked very well.

And with this result I managed to reach the semi final in my first tournament, where only the 4 best placed would compete to define who would be the finalists and then the champion of the tournament. Could this be my time to shine?

Semifinal round

I was prepared to go all out (and of course my opponent too). In the first dispute, the following rules of combat emerged (and it was in these details that the winner of the md3 was defined).

Observing these rules, some instant conclusions popped into my head. My opponent had Yodin among his options, while I didn't have him to use. But I had a card up my sleeve, but this card was kind of... kind of weak.

That would be my only way to defeat Yodin, reflecting damage from opponent's units. But the absence of armor in this battle made all the difference and for very little I couldn't win it. WATCH THE BATTLE and see how exciting this battle was.

It only took 1 life to take down the Chain Golem and win the combat by attacking infinitely with the Sand Worm. It was almost.

The second contest was a clash of low-cost flying units, and in this one I managed to get the better of it by setting up a more aggressive composition than the opponent's.

And unfortunately in the third fight I was totally massacred. I put together a composition focused on Taunt and armor regeneration, but the opponent bet heavily on a full mage comp, which totally invalidated my shields.

And so I got my second loss in the match and was eliminated from the tournament. A bitter defeat because if the Unprotected rule wasn't present in the first game, I would have won for sure... And that was my experience in the first tournament I participated.

THE PODIUM

This whole experience was wonderful and I had a lot of fun playing Splinterlands in this tournament, and on top of that, I managed to take third position, getting on the podium of the best placed and earning the incredible reward of 500 DEC (for those who were aiming to receive 75, the reward earned was substantially higher).

It is also worth mentioning that the winner of the tournament was the one who eliminated me, and this is always a valid excuse to reduce the weight of defeat lmao. In the end, it was really worth it to have dropped out of laziness and signed up for a tournament. I will definitely repeat this.

CONCLUSIONS

Although human beings are somewhat averse to change and new experiences, surely we should strive to always step forward and seek for them. That's what I did and it led to a wonderful experience, having had a lot of fun in this tournament and was thrilled with every victory I got.

I hope all of you have had this experience, and those of you who haven't, I strongly encourage you to do so because you won't regret it. If you feel that nervousness can be too great, do as I do and sign up for "free" entry tournaments and focused on low leagues like Rookie or Bronze and with no Legendaries available, so all opponents are on an equal footing and you you'll be able to play without worrying about ultra powerful players falling against you.

We must all continue to seek to evolve because only then will we grow as players and as investors, and this was a small step I just took in pursuit of this evolution. I hope you enjoyed reading this shared experience.
