INTRODUCTION

Last night when I went to renew my rentals on my Splinterlands rentals, I noticed a very unusual anomaly in the rental market. Honestly, the game rental market is really volatile, on certain days you can find a lot of cheap cards and hours later the prices have skyrocketed.

Today I will talk about this anomaly and discuss what is my view and interpretation of this event. I hope you enjoy this little conversation.

Nonsense prices

Source.

While renewing the leases on my cards and looking for the ones that were cancelled, I noticed that one of the level 6 Legion of Chaos cards was costing an extremely high price. However, when researching the letter at level 1, the astonishment was even greater!

There were very few units available on the market and this meant that the few that were put up for rent were very expensive. I took advantage of this movement to look at all my cards that I usually never put out for rent (for yielding 0.10 DEC/day) and I was impressed with the amount of different cards that were priced high due to the lack of copies available on the market. rent.

Taking advantage of this opportunity I put all the cards I had available for rent at high prices and managed to make an interesting profit from this strange market movement.

I hope you were also able to take advantage of this movement and make a lot of money. But why did this happen? Let's speculate a little.

SPECULATIONS

Source.

I already advance that I didn't want to research in depth to find the origin of this movement, but there are two main possibilities that I want to raise.

  • The first would be the forced reduction in supply*, that is, whale accounts intentionally withdraw their cards (specifically speaking of the Legion of Chaos) from the market, leaving few units of smaller players. With little supply, the market throws the price of the cards up and what happened yesterday happens.

  • The second would be the sudden increase in demand, mainly due to the growing perpetuation of bots among users. Currently, there are bots that, in addition to playing alone, also perform account rentals automatically, so when the bots of thousands of accounts decide to rent the basic cards of the Legion of Chaos at once, it is possible that they have taken a good part of the cards offered and this caused the rest to have their price high.

In the end, I believe that both can be true and even complement each other. Rental managers (there are already some focused on managing whale account rentals) may have reduced the supply of cards at the same time the battle bots did their conventional rentals, but ended up being very expensive due to low supply and high card prices.

It's obvious that really most of the rentals of these basic cards were done by bots when we look at the names of the players who rented my level 1 cards for very high prices.

In the end, both possibilities result in the same conclusion: bots are acting strongly in the market and this is directly reflected in the players who, when trying to rent a card, will realize the total lack of demand (and we know that there are yes MANY cards available).

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

There are many manipulations and we must keep ourselves as protected as possible from these strange movements. Whenever you can, surf the wave by renting your cards for higher prices, and when things are very cheap, you take the opportunity to reinforce your rented collection with cards useful for your battles. Stay safe and watch out for strange market movements!

Thank you so much to everyone who read this far, I hope you enjoyed it. If you like my content, I ask you to send your vote on the post and follow my profile so you can read future posts.

Shush! You can't share this with everyone, or they'll stop renting my ultra-expensive common cards hahahaha

Funny thing I'm seeing in the market is that sometimes a GOLD FOIL at a particular level can be lower price than the non-gold foil. There's a hot tip if you're looking to rent, sometimes, check the golds too ;)
