YGGSPL Onboarding Guide for New Members

If you are a new member of a YGGSPL Alliance Guild, this post will guide you through onboarding to make the most out of your participation in the YGGSPL alliance.

Join the YGGSPL Alliance Discord Server

The YGGSPL Alliance Discord Server is the focal point of our community. This is where you can participate in discussions, read announcements, get tournament passwords, enter GAP nominations, participate and view the SubDAO governance, and much more.

Ask your guild leader or a moderator to give you the appropriate discord roles so that you can see the appropriate channels. We also request that you add your guild affiliation after your name such as "unitmaster | brawlers" so that our community knows which guild you are with.

Mint a YGG Badge (Free)

Minting a YGG Badge is free, except for the gas fees, the gas fees are minimal now that YGG badges are on the Polygon network. The free YGG badge can be minted at yieldguild.io. Update 05/05/2023 this is the current link to use: v1.yieldguild.io

A YGG Badge is required to participate in GAP and earn rewards (more on that later).

The YGG Badge can be minted on Polygon or Ethereum. The gas fees are much lower on Polygon and we recommend minting your badge there. Here is a guide from YGG for how to mint your badge on Polygon.

YGGSPL Alliance leaders @krympton and @lorkus created a YGG Badge Minting Guide for ethereum that can be downloaded from this discord message if you need step-by-step help on minting your badge.

Verify Your YGG Badge on Discord

After minting your YGG badge, go to the #collab-land channel and verify your wallet. Holding a verified badge in your wallet will give you access to additional channels in the YGGSPL server. After you earn or buy YGGSPL tokens and hold them in your wallet, this will further open the governance channels for you to view and participate (more on that later).

Enter YGGSPL Private Tournaments

I've won more than 30,000 DEC from participating in the YGGSPL Alliance private tournaments. You can see them from the "private events" tab on the Splinterlands tournament page.

Passwords for the private tournaments are posted in the #alliance-announcements channel of the YGGSPL discord server.

Participate in Guild Advancement Program (GAP) Season Quests

YGG and YGGSPL sponsor a seasonal Guild Advancement Program (GAP) several times a year. Having a YGG badge and being a member of a YGGSPL Alliance Qualified Guild allows you to participate in the GAP program.

The current season at the time of this posting is GAP Season 3, which has four quests.

• Leadership Quest
• Community Quest
• Brawl Quest
• eSports Quest

At the end of each season, participants are awarded NFT badges and both YGG and YGGSPL tokens based on their performance. Here are some of the badges awarded for GAP season 2. You can view your badges on Opensea.io in your account under the hidden selection.

Earn or Buy YGGSPL Tokens

While owning YGGSPL tokens is not a requirement to be a member of YGGSPL, owning tokens will allow you to see and participate in SubDAO governance. You will also be able to vote with your tokens to help your guild qualify to participate in each GAP season. Read the YGGSPL Token page on our GitBook for more token information.

You can earn tokens through participation in the Guild Advancement Program or buy them directly from the DAO treasury. The #purchase-tokens channel has details and a link to purchase tokens from the treasury.

Participate in YGGSPL SubDAO Governance

Once you have YGGSPL tokens and have verified your wallet, you should have these roles in the discord server. If not, check with your guild leaders and we can help you get your roles.

You'll now be able to see the governance channels below. We encourage members to participate and share their opinions in the #governance-discussions channel.
