PIT CHALLENGE: I explored something new and exciting in Splinterlands today!🔥

Good morning, everyone. It has been raining continuously here since last night; while the weather is quite pleasant, I’m not used to this much rain, and it has caused waterlogging in several places. Anyway, I had to head out for some work in a couple of hours, so I decided to play a bit of Splinterlands in the meantime. Upon logging in, the first thing I did was spin the wheel for my daily streak; I received some Sparks and a "PIT Challenge." Frankly, I didn't have the slightest clue about it—it was the first time I’d seen something like this in Splinterlands. For a moment, I thought it might be similar to a battle I had played there previously, but that notion vanished as soon as I clicked "GO NOW" to proceed; the screen that appeared next required me to select the challenge's difficulty level.

Initially, I selected the 'Normal' difficulty—the middle option—but as soon as I clicked the 'Battle' button, a pop-up appeared stating that this decision was irreversible; it asked me to confirm if I was sure or if I wanted to reconsider. Reading this made me pause, as I had no idea what to expect next in the challenge—it was an entirely new experience for me. So, I decided to rethink my choice, went back to select the 'Easy' option for 'Al The Mountain,' and then clicked 'Battle.'

The next page was the battle challenge itself. The mana cap was 99—likely the maximum—and all elements were available; there were no specific rulesets, meaning I had total freedom to choose whichever cards I wanted. However, something about the opponent's side looked unusual: "Al the Mountain" appeared as a single card rather than an opposing player. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect—I wondered if this card was an AI bot that would build its own team, or if it constituted a team all on its own, given that its stats far surpassed those of any high-level card I had ever seen.

And my suspicion proved correct: this 'The Mountain' card was essentially a team unto itself that my squad had to face. At first glance, this mind-boggling card made me feel like I might actually lose the battle; its stats—particularly its health and attack power—were immense. Furthermore, it possessed two special abilities that offered complete protection against melee attackers: a shield that reduced incoming melee damage by 50%, and a 'Thorns' ability that inflicted 2 points of health damage back onto the attacker AND To top it all off, the card's sheer size and imposing appearance made it look even more formidable and powerful.

Fortunately, I hadn't relied on melee cards for this battle, and I also had a card with the 'Thorns' ability; consequently, my 'Thorns' tank absorbed the opponent's first two attacks. Meanwhile, my magic and ranged attackers unleashed a heavy assault on the enemy. By the third or fourth round, the opponent was completely defeated, and I emerged victorious in this amazing battle.
I thoroughly enjoyed this battle, and I believe cards like this should be available to regular players as well. I had seen a similar card in the Arcana set—the Life element Legendary card 'Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut'—which also appears to be an incredibly powerful card of that nature. However, the introduction of such cards would necessitate certain restrictions—such as limiting the number of cards selected—otherwise, players possessing them would dominate Splinterlands completely. Regardless, I found this unique battle entertaining and look forward to more challenges like it.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
