Splinterlands: Finally unlocked the Modern Gold League as well!🔥

Even though I’ve purchased the Wild Pass and should ideally be playing most of my battles in the Wild format, a conversation with another player taught me something valuable: there are specific times of the day when, despite using your best strategies, you might face a losing streak. Continuing to play out of a desire for revenge only leads to losses and wasted energy. However, if you take a break or switch modes—moving from Modern to Wild or vice versa—you might perform better. The logic is simple: during times when most pro players are online, you might struggle to hold your own against their powerful Wild cards. That’s why I’ve continued playing in the Modern format alongside Wild; it seems to have improved my win rate—especially in Modern, where I’ve maintained a 63% win rate so far, which is excellent.

Given such a strong win rate, I really should have unlocked the Gold League much earlier, right? However, after purchasing the Wild Pass, my primary focus has been on playing in Wild mode; consequently, I’ve played less than half as much in Modern compared to Wild. That is likely the reason why—despite having such a good win rate—I only managed to unlock the Gold League in Modern just two days before the season ends. Had I been fully focused on Modern, that milestone could probably have been reached by the third day. Still, better late than never; along with unlocking the Gold League in Modern, I’ve received a "Welcome Loot" bundle containing a total of 11 chests—which inlcudes 7 Minor and 4 Major chests.

Let me tell you, all 11 chests are fantastic. From the 7 smaller chests, I received 1 Rare and 4 Common cards—including two copies of one specific card—along with a Common scroll and some merits. Among these, the "Saltwraith Bulkhead"—a Life-element card with a heavy melee attack—is a personal favorite; I currently have it upgraded to Level 2, which grants it an extra health point. I usually position this card behind a tank with the "Flank" ability, or—if the battle rules allow for an additional Gladiator card—I place it on the front line ahead of a card with "Reach." Since I lack other strong "Reach" cards in my deck outside of the Gladiator set, this strategy works well for me. Plus, if you can somehow equip this card with "Piercing" and "Armored Strike" abilities, its performance becomes truly impressive.

I also really like the "Husk of the Hunter" card and frequently use it in my battles. I have it upgraded to Level 3, which boosts its health by +1. It also possesses a great ability called "Headwinds," which reduces the attack power of all enemy ranged attack cards by 1; strategically, using this card in battle proves to be highly beneficial.

Additionally, from four major chests, I received two copies each of two cards, along with some energy and two entries. I really like both of these cards: the Water element melee attack card, Coralforged, comes with the 'Flank' ability, making it a great choice for the frontline position. Meanwhile, the Earth element magic attack card, Stonebind Matron, is excellent for adding magic capabilities to the team. Although its health is quite low at Level 1—making it vulnerable to enemy attacks—I have it upgraded to Level 3, where it gains +1 Health and +1 Speed, making it both sturdier and faster than its base stats suggest. All in all, it has been a long time since I received such good cards in a welcome loot drop.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
