Splinterlands: From 6 packs, I got 3 Rare, 2 Epic, and 1 Gold card! 🔥

This marks the first time since the last season that I have purchased Gladius packs. Over this period, I earned a significant amount of Glint by playing Brawl Battles, and I received a substantial number more through the "Welcome Loot" rewards obtained upon reaching new tiers during ranking updates. In total, these earnings amounted to over 12,000 Glint, and today, I decided to spend it all at once. Thus, at a rate of 2,000 Glint per Gladius Case, I paid a total of 12,000 Glint for six cases. Each pack contains 5 random cards from the Gladius Gladiator set, with at least one guaranteed Rare card or better. While opening these packs, I also kept my Alchemy and Legendary Potions active. Although obtaining Gold Foil cards from this set offers no trading-related benefits—since these cards are entirely "Soulbound," meaning they cannot be used for anything other than gameplay—receiving a Gold card is still advantageous. This is because a single Gold card often provides multiple copies of a card at a higher level all at once; otherwise, levelling up a card by individually collecting all the necessary copies can be a lengthy process. Therefore, pulling a Gold card is certainly a welcome outcome.

This represents my biggest Gladius Case shopping spree to date, yielding a haul that includes 9 Common cards, along with 3 Rare, 2 Epic, and 1 Gold card. Incidentally—and excluding the newly launched Islesharn set—this is the only card set where even the Common cards strike me as equally attractive and are ones I actively incorporate into my gameplay. For instance, cards like Alva the Crusher, Katrelba Gobson, and Chimney Wallstop are ones I frequently deploy in my battles. Beyond these, I also acquired 3 Rare cards today; to be honest, Palidon Rakk is the only one I would definitely use—provided mana isn't a limiting factor—though in low-mana battles, Orella Abadon and Sarius can also prove incredibly useful as part of a sound strategic approach.

As for the 2 Epic cards, they are simply mind-blowing in every respect. Take Gorth, for instance: he boasts a massive 5 Melee Attack power coupled with excellent Health—two critical stats that fully support you in adopting both defensive and offensive strategies during a battle. Furthermore, Marisol Contuma is a formidable card featuring 4 Melee Attack power; thanks to her Reach ability, you can strategically position her in the second slot of your lineup, allowing her to strike massive blows against the enemy from a relatively sheltered position. Moreover, literally every single stat on this card is impressive—whether it be her 4 Armor, 8 Health, super-fast 5 Speed, or the Bloodlust ability she shares in common with every other card in this set.🔥

Now, based on the rate of 5 cards per case, I should have received a total of 30 cards from the 6 Gladius cases; however, I ended up receiving only 16. Do you know why? Well, I’m not entirely sure about this myself, but it likely happened because one of the cards included in this batch is a Gold card—specifically, a Level 3 Gold card. Typically, upgrading a single card to Level 3 requires 14 copies; so, viewed from that perspective, those 14 copies are essentially 'hidden' within this one Gold card. As I mentioned, I’m not 100% certain, but this seems to be the only logical explanation I can come up with. If the actual reason is something else—and you happen to know what it is—please let me know in the comments; I would love to learn something new from you as well!🙂

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
