Splinterlands: Upgrading 3 Common Arcana cards to level 2!🔥

Leveling up cards is a crucial task in Splinterlands—one that every player should undertake periodically as soon as they have collected enough copies. By consistently purchasing Legendary Draws over the past few seasons, I have amassed a total of seven copies across six Legendary cards; hopefully, another one will be added to the list in the coming days, as I have already earned enough Glint to buy another Legendary Draw. However, alongside this, I also started purchasing draws for other rarities using the Glint I earned. Consequently, I am now building up a collection of Common and Rare cards, and the next step is to combine the copies to upgrade and strengthen them.

Today, I found three cards from the Conclave Arcana set ready to be upgraded from Level 1 to Level 2. The first was the Fire element magic attacker, Cullborn Revenant; at Level 1, it possessed relatively good attack power (2) but had very low armor, health, and speed. It also featured the 'Snipe' ability, which allows it to target the first non-melee card hiding behind the tank—specifically targeting magic and ranged attackers. I was keen to improve its health at Level 2 because, while its offensive capabilities were decent, it was quite poor at defending itself; fortunately, the upgrade delivered exactly that, increasing its health by +1 to a total of 3.

The second card on this list is the Death element melee attacker, Grim Bonewhip. While its attack power is impressive relative to its cost, health, and speed, it suffers from the same issue that prevents me from making it my top choice: given its very low health and minimal speed, it might not even get a chance to attack in most battles. Its low speed puts it at a disadvantage, and its low health makes it an easy target—unlikely to withstand more than two enemy attacks. I was hoping for some health-related upgrades for this card because, while I can manage my team's speed using the cards currently in my deck, I have no way to boost their health. Fortunately, at Level 2, this card does receive a +1 health boost, bringing its total health to 4.

Finally, the last card I upgraded today was the Ironwing Juggernaut, another melee attacker of the Grey element. I rarely use this card—not because its stats are lacking, but because its 'Weary' ability causes it to become exhausted, which isn't ideal for my strategy. If I were to choose a card like this, the Halfling Refugee would always be my first choice; it costs only one mana, and unlike the Juggernaut, it doesn't split its durability between armor and health—it simply feels more effective without armor. In terms of other stats and abilities, they are quite similar, so why pay more for the same capabilities? However, with this new update, the Ironwing Juggernaut becomes somewhat superior to the Halfling Refugee in high-mana battles; at Level 2, its health has increased by +1 to reach a total of 4, giving it a slight edge. Even so, I would only consider using it if I had extra mana to spare.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
