Splinterlands 2026: Starting My Journey

Intro

Lets kick things off good and proper with a big ole' Happy New Year folks, let's hope 2026 fulfills your wildest hopes and dreams! Definitely got my own fingers crossed!

Compared to many others in the HIVE Network I'm a relative fresh face having only rocked up and gotten underway in Nov 2025. Taken a little time to wrap my head round HIVE, HDB, the Hive Keychain, Hive Blog and 101 other things but I'm making progress and more importantly I like what I see! Already had some great interactions, and had some help from a few veterans :)

Expectations were limited in 2025, no idea how things would go but at the end of the year my fresh face Account is exactly where I wanted it to be (~$1.00), so the real adventure is going to be watching this little acorn grow all through 2026, and finding out where it ends up.

Thing's I've Done So Far...

• In no particular order, just learning as I go.
• Had some fun commenting on others Blog content, even entered a few competitions
• Signed up to Actifit, and Blogged a little bit about some exercise achievement
• Learnt about RC/Voting, Hive Power, delegation and 101 other things
• Learnt about various tokens, tipping, and their usages
• Produced a few Movie Reviews (hoping to do lots more of this in 2026!)
• Had a little flutter on Kryptogamers with some low risk DEC

Feel like I've been pretty busy, especially as Christmas has been and gone, which soaks up a fair bit of time.. but now it's time to branch out a little further..

Splinterlands.. Starting My Journey!

This is the biggy, man cannot live on Blogging alone, couldn't get past it, arguably the biggest game on the Hive Network.. time to dip a toe into Splinterlands and see what happens!

Step 1: Obviously had to go straight for the new Avatar section lol :)

Step 2: Went straight to the new Campaign Area and spent some time completing all tasks to build up Deck Foundation Cards:

Step 3: Off to Ranked Frontier Mode to see what we can do.. had some fun but quickly discovered that without Spellbook my wings were a little clipped so time to look into sorting that out.

Step 4:
Time for a Spellbook and understanding all that owning one offers the game end user!

Actually purchased the spellbook using $10 borrowed from a friend that is also living the HIVE dream so I guess now I'm doubly incentivized to see if I can make Splinterlands work for me, and pay back the kind sponsor lol.

Wrap Up..

I guess that's it folks, this is it.. my big Splinterlands debut splash of 2026 has now been made, can't wait to see how this goes, should be entertaining to say the least! I've got 5 Conclave Arcana Starter Packs that need opened.. and then I've got some modern League battling to do Wish me luck!
