Splinterlands 2026: Starting My Journey - Guild Brawl No.2

Intro

Guild Brawl No. 2 was always going to be a tricky sequel, I mean was the outcome of the first one just dumb luck or some early door well executed strategy? Well Guild Brawl No. 2 cleared that up! :)

Brawl Losses (Beating No. 1)..

There were quite a few to choose from, you definitely need a sense of humour when brawling. I figured I'd share one of the more amusing battles where I was all but alpha'd right off the park lol.

Shoutout to MANGO-JUICE for 'bringing the heat'.

• The ruleset had 'Briar Patch' so no-one without a cunning plan was going to play anything other than Archers or Magic type Cards
• As expected MANGO-JUICE went with a mostly magic setup, threw in a Gladiator Archer for good measure and the only Melee card was a meat shield.

Points Worth Noting..

That Gladiator card Edith Emberstar is properly badass, she's quick, she hits hard and the bloodlust only makes her stronger and more dangerous as the battle goes on.. I need to get my hands on one of those it's a game changer!

• The combo of Saltwater Mage with the 'sneak' ability and Mystic Scaleweaver with the 'slow' ability is a formidable pairing, and when boosted by Marlai Singariel only gets more dangerous.
• That speed -1 is important, as it a decent counter for anyone already trying to get the jump on the match to land a first blow and do damage before both of those Cards are let off the lead!

Almost Alpha'd Round 1..

Like I said you need a decent sense of humour, after round one there wasn't much left standing in my arsenal to talk about! Two units were lost straight away and by the end of Round 1 my forces were somewhat depleted.. the writing was already on the wall, with the opponent going to take first 'swipe' in Round 2.

Special mention actually goes out to my own Saltwater Mage (that I acquired this Frontier Season), she was the only team member able to manage to sneak a quick kill on the opponents New Beluroc Aegis before the battle was over!

• No mercy was shown in Round 2, Edith Emberstar carved through my unit in first position and the rest of my lineup then collapsed like a house of cards lol!
• Surprise surprise my opponents Saltwater Mage landed the final blow :)

Overall Brawl Outcome

The final outcome from Brawl No. 2 was pretty unexpected, having watched match after match where I was unequivocally hammered! So I as pleasantly surprised by the amount of Merit & $SPS that was extracted from the experience

• Big thanks to MARIASAMPAGUITA for fleeing, you did me a real favour!
• I think the important aspect of Guild Brawl No. 2 was that opponents showed up with some real muscle this time around so I got a chance to see what some of the meta looks like and what I could or should Buy/Rent to shore my collection up in the short term, and be more competitive.

The Guild actually did pretty damn well, and just missed out on a Bronze place!
