Beware of Poison "Noxious Fumes"- A Splinterlands' Battle Mage Secret Challenge Entry

Poison from "Noxious Fumes" exposes the Warrior's Immunity Level!

Battle or warfare as you may call it requires a high level of fitness by its participants. Any warrior who surfaces in the battlefield without a sufficient level of immunity against internal and external attack does so at his great risk and may never return alive, and such death can be considered corwardic. This is why every soldier on a combat mission should have the "truth" that he can be poisoned in the battle field either through a weapon, food, water or air which are essentials materials. Thus, there is need for first aid or curative elements that can reduce a poisoning effect on a victimized warrior.

M. L. Wang is credited to saying that any warrior knew that death by slow poisoning was worse than death by the blade. Such a terrible way to die in the battle is by poisoning. Many times, poison doesn't look like it. It's always blended into its host material to deceive the unfortunate victim. This is my analysis of Noxious Fumes battle ruleset in Splinterlands game.

When Noxious Fumes ruleset is activated, all units are poisoned at the start of the game. However, monster units with Immunity are not poisoned. Poisoning is a one-time application, as such, units that are cleansed, resurrected or rebirthed will not be re-applied with poison. Moreover, enrage is triggered by Poison application. Put together, the antidote to poisoning effect on the Splinterlands monster is it's immunity which can be internally generated as a prevention or externally generated as a curative mechanism to reduce the effect of the poisoning.

Noxious Fumes is another scarce battle ruleset. I drew it just once in the course of the week and I'm glad to make an entry in the ongoing Battle Mage Secret challenge. The poisoning effect on monsters when drawing noxious fumes ruleset can be worsened with a magic attack which aims directly on the health of the monster. On the other hand, to protect your team against such, a health replenishing monster or summoner ability would be a boost, just like a first aid equipment would be useful at the battlefield for a wounded warrior.

My Battle Experience and Strategy

I pooled the Noxious Fumes battle ruleset with just 14 manna cap. Since they was the first time to encounter such battle, I quickly had to go for a magic attack monster that would help amplify my attacked on the health of my enemies. Each time I have the privilege to use a magic monster, then Nerissa Tridawn is what comes to my mind first.

The low manna cap drawn for the battle was a huge hindrance to selecting the kind of monsters that would be fitting for this kind of ruleset. I have a cleansing and health renewing monster in my deck and that was supposed to be a part of the lineup, but the manna cap would allow. I needed to settle for Nerissa Tridawn and just one other monster to fill up the count. For me, adding Hardy Stonefish was just for the number and not for what it would do in the battle.

The poisoning made it easier for me as it helped destroy one of the enemy's monster without any strike from my team. The battle lasted not more than two rounds and my Nerissa Tridawn made only two strikes that brought us victory.

A review of the battle shows that "health" is a key resource to staying longer or winning the battle. Where health of monsters are minimal, then the poisoning effect would be huge. This however tells how immune and your team are. It is key to select monsters that have health restoration or addition abilities while also having a strong attack to deplete the enemy monsters' health.

My strategy was just superb for the fight and if I draw the ruleset again with such low manna cap, I would still go for that combination.

Did you battle with "Noxious Fumes" ruleset? What was the outcome?
