One more Chance (Born Again) to Change Everything - Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Challenge Entry

The Bible Story of Sampson and the Philistine leaves an array of lessons that transcend beyond the religious circle. One of such lesson is that " sometimes, all it takes is one more chance to change everything.” It admonishes us not to give up on someone who still believes in the power of second chances. When we are left with one more chance, it is not just a gift, it's an opportunity to prove yourself. This is how I perceive the Born Again battle ruleset of the Splinterlands game.

Born Again battle ruleset provides that all units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once. It was quite fascinating watching this battle for about four times trying to figure out how each monster maximized their comeback opportunity. While some monsters made the most of their resurrection with just one health and perhaps one armor by dealing a heavy blow to their enemy before being hit again, others were merely so passive and could not even strike.

Being one of the most recently added battle rulesets, I had greatly anticipated playing it. I had two failed chances and after this battle, I was able to record wins with the ruleset.

The Battle Experience

With 36 manna caps for the battle, I had the opportunity to select Six (6) monster units for the battle. I had my best pics in addition to my dearly Kelya Frendyl summoner. The summoner added +1 speed and +1 armor to all friendly monsters. I only prayed for the enemy team not to field magic-attack monsters. The prayer was answered as all monsters in the enemy team were melee attack monsters except one with range attack. however, the enemy team was so prepared to come to battle with a summoner that added the"Thorns" ability to all their monster units.

My team had a good mix of Magic and melee attack monsters but I had carefully positioned Serpent of Eld (7) to lead Nerissa Tridawn (9), Merdaali Guardian (3), Ice Pixie (2), Scavo Hireling (3) and Deeplurker (6) The lead monster had a high speed (4) and high melee attack (3) with an armor of 2. My positioning of Merdali Guardian in the middle of my lineup was to heal the first monster using the Tank heal ability which made Serpent of Eld satay alive throughout the battle.

It was a long duel with some of the rounds taking up to 23 strike attempts. It was also a fierce duel that lasted for 7 rounds. My team lost the last two monster units and finished with 4 monsters still standing.

The secret of my win stood with the strategy that protected the life of the first monster throughout the fight. It won't be bad to term Merdaali Guardian as the Hero of the battle. Deeplurker had an effective resurrection strike at the enemy. In fact, it killed the enemy with one strike after it resurrected. during the second round. It was a good win with 4 monster units still alive. Was served 2 resurrections and one of them was well utilized. The enemy team couldn't despite heavy attack abilities. In summary, one more chance could change everything if the right strategy is applied. Sampson in my opening story had it right with his last chance and even killed more enemies as a blind warrior than he did with his two eyes in position.
