Recycling Investments in the Splinterlands & GLS Play2Earn Ecosystems

Despite the lingering bear market across the cryptosphere, many are cashing out big taking the right investment steps within the Hive blockchain. Indeed, knowledge is the new currency. Splinterlands Inc, creators of the Splinterlands Battle game have also built a sports based gaming platform known as Genesis League Sports (GLS). The platform has successfully launched its first soccer game - Goals in partnership with Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA).

Splintershards (SPS) stakeholders were the first to hold the the governance token of GLS through a year long airdrop that is still on course. Staking GLX also comes with a staking reward just like SPS, but would end in about 80 days. Being privileged to hold the governance token for both the Splinterlands battle game and GLS platform makes me a balanced investor in the SPlinterlands gaming ecosystem.

With the dipping markets, SPS and GLX perform differently in terms of market volumes and speculations this is because the development of the two games are in parallel. Presently, there are no correlation between the SPS and GLX market though both tokens can be swapped on Tribaldex.

I decided to make some tweaks in my SPS and GLX holdings based on the pricing, the staking APY and my predictions of the possible future performances of the tokens. My 10k GLX stake yields around 25 tokens daily at about 68% estimated APR. This is about 4x the estimated APR for SPS staking which presently stands at 15%. However, there are more strong hands holding SPS token than are holding GLX. The use cases for SPS token has been growing exponentially plus the fact that SPS is listed in Huobi exchange outside Hive exposes SPS to more potential investors.

The Splinterlands team have been intentional with positioning SPS even in the marketing of GLS games. This pitches that the recovery of the SPS market is imminent. This is not so with GLX which is yet to gain acceptance outside of Hive. Though the team are making frantic efforts to market the Goals game and have the MLS supporters come in to secure NFTs, GLS is still in its very early days and an investment effort into GLX must be meant for the very long haul.

At $0.004 per token, $GLX is 82x away from its al-time-high value and get back that track could take a long time perhaps after the staking rewards and airdrops have ended and the Goals game is in full swing with proposed features. At $0.008, I saw the need to have sold out my GLX staking rewards to buy SPS. Glad that I followed my instinct which helped me evade the 50% price crash doen to $0.004 after about 24 hours.

The $SPS market is staying strong around $0.018 and I hope it gets better as Lands 1.5 launch approaches. The recent tweaks in the Splinterlands battle game which now utilizes staked SPS for ranked rewards and higher league participation, has spurred demands for SPS. This informed my swap of GLX returns to SPS.

After staking about 130 SPS from 500 GLX, my total SPS stake stands at 4,300 which is 43% away from my 2023 SPS staking goal. I'm hopeful that I would hit 10k SPS stake before the end of 2023.

This is mnot the first time I am alternating GLX and SPS ivestments. I've always recycled these two assets to maintain a safe play to earn asset balance. If GLX further dumps, I would have to use my SPS staking rewards to buy more GLX. Presently, 1 SPS gives 3.991 LX and my daily GLX returns would purchase at least 6 SPS.

I believe the two tokens have a great future and I'll keep recycling between the two lead P2E assets in my portfolio until the bull arrives.

What is your investment strategy in Splinterlands and GLS?
