To get started, simply purchase the Summoner's Spellbook, which costs $10 and qualifies you to receive in-game rewards, and you also receive starter cards (not sellable) that you can use in the game.
I recommend that you start playing before you buy the cards and if you like the game you can start buying and upgrading the cards to improve the rewards. The cards can also be rented...
