Going the Distance With Fernheart | The Rangers Battle

avatar

It is yet another moment for the splinterlands weekly battle mage which main purposes is to allow players to take part in battles using the main rule set given for the weeks and also allow them to show forth their various strategy using this main rule sets. I have been enjoying this battle mage challenges for years now with no difficulties. After the introduction of this new rules, some rule sets have been a challenges to me especially the one picked for this week which is the Going the Distance rule set, I think this is the second time they will pick it, the first time I couldn't take part because I didn't meet the ruleset in my battle and this time around, after lot of attempt, the first 2 I saw wasn't easy and I was defeated because of one small mistakes and I didn't have the earth summoner with the close range ability in my collection to make the battle more easier.

I even had to pray silently so I could meet the rule set again and after a while, I saw it and I hard to rush to peakmonster site to rent lvl 5 Fernheart because I don't want to miss the opportunity again. I had this particular battle with duognxa in a 43 mana capped battle, we had the Equal opportunity which give all monster card the opportunity ability and this allow them to attack monster cards with the lowest health and also the Going the distance rule set which only allow range monster cards and we are allow to pick between life and earth element. The rule set somehow work hand in hand though but since we are selecting range cards, there are limit to these cards except they have the close range ability which will allow them to battle as a frontline in case they reach the first position. This actually made me rent Fernheart and use it as my summoner but I was somehow not sure of which cards to bring on board since I will be using the earth element. Most of my rangers arent that strong enough and their health is of average but after thinking for a while I decided to pick the following

First is the Drybone Raider since it is my only melee with range attack and it is currently in level 1, but I decided to use this card as my frontline because of the double strike ability which allow it to attack twice in each round and with this double attacking stat, it will be dealing 4 attacks each round which is really cool if not destroyed quickly

Hunter Jarx isn't one card I do use like that in battle and that is one of the really I didn't level it up but in this situation that I'm in, I had to select it because of the snipe ability and also the 3 range attack stat

I do make use of Goblin tower a lot even though it is a 1 speed cards with average state but the blast ability make it more useful to me especially in reverse speed rule set, I had to bring it on board so it can add extra damage due to the opportunity ability

When it come to adding a swiftness ability in a range battle, supply runner is the best card that will fill that spot, I add to even use it to complement goblin tower and increase the card speed with +1 so it wont be attacking last and at least deal some damage before it got destroyed, it wasn't a bad choice picking it up to be honest.

Mitica Headhunter was the last card I could really think of to fill the backline spot for me, with the high speed and attack but average health.

I was a little bit surprised when I saw what my opponent brought on board and he make sure he use a martyr card with 2 health so i could destroy it first and buff his card which really work out but I was lucky enough to destroy frontline with the close range ability which gave me a headups against him since if any of his card reach the front position, they won't be able to attack, it was a tough battle though, but using this particular summoner and drybone raider really helps and I won the battle free and fair.
