Rise of the Commons | Risking It All In The Presence Of Briar Patch

Today mark the end of another season moment in the splinterland space and we are currently in the last season of the year 2023, next year will usher in a new beginning with more battle to conquer, more cards and sps to loot while we wait if they will be another new development or new monster cards set but till then we. focus fully on what we have at hand. The eos reward for this season was still the same as usual with no leggy or gold leggy but just a bunch of it is well kind of cards, only the sps given this time around was somehow better from what I do received normally, wish that continues in the next season.

This week battle mage challenge is on and this time we have the Rise of the Commons rule set as the theme for this week, in this rule set, only common and rare units cards are allow in battle which means epic and legendary monster cards cant be use but this rule set have no effect on the summoners, you can use any one from any units as you like. I had this battle with forestdweller in a 28 mana capped match with 3 ruleset which includes ferocity which give all cards the fury ability, rise of the common that allow only common and rare cards and lastly briar patch that give all cards thorn ability which means it deals damage back to melee monster cards. This briar patch ability want to change all my formation because I had to think it twice if using melee cards is a good option in this kind of battle.

I had to pair dragon with death ability so as to make use of windeku which is my healing melee cards as my frontline then picked shadow snitch just because of the affliction so as to block my opponent from healing much in battle, Venari Bonesmith with the leech and poison ability as a magic cards. I decided to risk it by using Dhampir Inflitrator with the sneak and double strike ability. while thinking of how to protect my cards, I decide to use extra armour at least to prevent the melee from first counter damage so I picked Ravenhood warden which really gave them the armour support and lastly I picked Naga Assassin a range cards then submitted the battle.

My opponent really decided to come in with magic cards with extra magic summoner, I was wowed and had this thought that I lost the battle already since briar patch cant affect magic cards and also it will hit my cards health directly, I skipped the match and found out I won, so I quickly reload to see how I manage to win the battle. Apparently his first two cards are weak in health and my windeku was strong enough to hold back some damages without getting destoryed, and before his prismatic could heal up, I already applied affliction to it and also destroy his back line. so it was now easy for me to win the battle, won with most of my cards still standing strong in battle.
