This evaluation is going to be made in consideration of battle mana cap, card perks and buff in and the line up .

Magic attack Cards

In Splinterlands the magic attack are among the attacks possessd by specific monster cards, this attack is inevadable in battles *that is all magic attack dealt goes through to opponent unless the ruleset of a battle affect the magic attacker cards from dealing damage with its attack, among the Splinterlands card there several magic attack cards. spread across the 7 elementals.

As i have mentioned earlier, there factors that affect game play-out using magic attack cards one of them is the ruleset of the game or at least the type of enemy monsters and abilities that are present in the battle.

Ruleset - The rule set of a battle can affect the performance of magic attackers in a game, considering if it is favourable to the magic attack card or not .

*For example in a battle ruleset with lost magic where magic monsters may not be used in battle rule, weak magic or magic hits armor first before hitting the health

Monster card abilities- abilities that counter the magic attack in a battles

Abilities That Counter Magic Attack

Magic reflect card When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker
Deals damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. The damage is reflected even if the attacker does not hit, monster with this ability

Phase ability cards Magic attack can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks)

Silience in base card Reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Monsters

Void ability cards Reduced damage from Magic attacks
Attack damage gets halved (rounded up), except attack 1 which deals 0 damage

void armor ability Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health

This bring us to the topic of today's post on the strategy to counter magic attacker in a battle with specific ways to card placement in a a battle to counter magick attackers using base cards . From the list of the abilities above that counter magic attack it is very clear that the earth and death elemental has strong magic attack counter abilities . there are also other card abilities to add as substitute cards to complete the strategy and one of them is the snipe ability.

Snipe ability- Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

Strategy to Counter magic attackers using base cards

To counter magic attack you have to first decide on the best elemental to use in the battle, we are going to look at all the card in the base card switch magic attack counter abilities.

Battle Playout Refrence

This is a battle play-out using the earth elemental card strategy to counter magic attack using base card.

• Round 1 - Failed summoner get hits with a blast attack from death elemental with magic attack it remove 1 health point but then failed summoner attacks immediately after with the magic reflect ability in response to previous attack. Life sapper with magic attack and soul strangler simultaneously attempt a blast attack and ranged attack at my tank monster Unicorn mustang with void ability which then causes an attack miss from both attempt.

• Round 2
  round 2 starts of with a missed attack from xenith archer. death elemental deals another hit at failed summoner which reflects the attack for the second time, failed summoner deals blast attack at death elemental eliminating card from line up, cursed windeku get blast attack from khmer princess eliminating the tank of the offence team instantly. carrion shade also get eliminated in this round from an attack from goblin psychic.

• Round 3

  Tank monster misses a hit from life sapper now in tank position, and an attack from carrion shade, life sapper gets eliminated by a blast attack from khmer princess , goblin psychic heals unicorn mustang health point, then soul strangler gets eliminated .

• Round 4
  Unicorn munstang breaks Xenith Archer shield and it finally gets eliminated by blast attack.

Conclusion

My conclusion is i strongly believe that any ability can be countered by having a strategy in the battle, this strategy can be done if you are a beginner seeing that i niched down the strategy to just the base cards in Splinterlands. The magic attack cards in this strategy are also very important in the battle, which was why i decided to go for them instead of using a snipe ability card like Child of Forest as an alternative substitute, especially with a card like magic attack card goblin psychic which continued to heal my tank as long as it remained in the battle. Both magic attackers in the lineup also had an advantage of plus 1 extra magic attacks from summoner Obsidan, i hope to discuss a strategy using other cards in the future, and i hope you found this helpful, thanks for reading to days post i would see you in the next one.
