Adapting to Modern: Learning Integrating Foundation Cards Into Your Battles Part 6

Prelude
Greeting to all, we are closing into mid week and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern. With the launch of the foundation card set, it is evident that these cards will somehow become part of the available cards that we can play during normal ranked battle and truly I use them in my ranked battles. If you follow what I share on my weekly Splinterlands posts, many of these foundation cards even found their way into my rank battles lineup which tells us how good they can be.
For me, these cards are important because they give newcomers a decent push to strengthen and expand their collection until they have sufficient DEC/SPS or other methods of capital injection to purchase main set packs or buy off the market for the cards that can truly elevate their lineup in ranked battles. In this series, I will be deep diving into various foundation cards that we can obtain from playing frontier matches and opening foundation packs.
Foundation Set Cards
For the deep dive and analysis, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and if they are able to synergize with modern cards to aid you in your ranked battles. This time round, assessment and recommendation will be within the card's own paragraph than having a segment on their own, so take note in the structural change in the post. Let's begin today's sharing.
Spitting Camel

Let's begin looking at the foundation card, Spitting Camel. Finally something can increase its attack though it only happens at the last level. While the card has slow speed, it does have true shots which will ensure every attack to land. One important to note is that this camel has a real thick health and can even stand in as a meat shield during times that you need to be a little more creative. Definitely not the best range attacker out there but in times where you only can field range attackers, this card might come in handy.
Growth potential for this card is interesting because when you gain that extra attack at level 5, you will need to compromise 1 health from 8 back to 7. Is it worth it? I would say why not. Reason being that 1 attack will just get shut down by shield easily and render the attack ineffective. Like how it scales in terms of the health. With true shot, we need not worry about speed too much since the attack will surely hit. Not too bad for a foundation card.
In terms of rating for this card, based on a score of 5, it will get about 2.7. Not too bad for a card and I give it a slightly better score due to it being able to gather 1 more attack when maxed, which is not easily seen in foundation common cards. A card that will probably hang in frontier mode than actual because there are a couple of stronger range attackers in the main sets. I would also say that, if this card is buffed by Prophet Rosa, it is a guaranteed 4 damage at max level, so another possibility to consider.
Water-Logged Wizard

Now we look at another card from Water splinter, Water-Logged Wizard. With only 3 health at level 1, this card looks absolutely squishy. As this card levels up, it gains deflection shield which is an awesome ability and will always come in handy against blast cards or blast rulesets.
In terms of growth for this card, no attack growth but mainly seeing slight improvements in speed and health. But that deflection shield is just so good to have. 1 magic attack only is also very risky as this card can be easily shut down by void ability. But no matter how, because the foundation archon for water boost magic attack, it will still do fine.
In terms of rating for this card, it will take a rating of 2.7 out of 5. While this card appears in my lineup often, there are stronger magic attackers out there with better stats and attack scaling. This is a very reliable card in frontier but on standard modern ranked, you can start with this card and subsequently change to others to further strengthen your collection.
Wrap Up
Though some of the foundation cards need a little more mana, but when they come into the matches, they help to fill mana gaps in our collection that we are lacking or when there is just this odd mana or two that you cannot field anything. Make full use of them, synergize them with your other cards, make them viable and win matches so as to earn more glint as we continue building up our collection. Hopefully this series of post will help new players learn more about these cards and improve their gameplay in ranked battles.
Let's continue to grow and find path in modern ranked battles as we journey on playing Splinterlands.

Both are good for frontier but not very good for ranked.

Camel sounds interesting like an essential in desert as in the battle.
Thick health additional last punch.

Not too bad, I use it whenever I need some shield at the back
Sometimes I use the camel as second line tank since it has good health!
I saw some people do that. It is quite decent as 2nd tank
Nice share!
