Battle Mage Secrets: Fab Four - Summon Your Big Guns

Hi all, hope all is well for you and it is time for another Battle Mage Secrets. Last week, we looked at a ruleset that boom their neighbours for every damage that land. Today, we look at a ruleset that is one of the newest rulesets added recently to the game and what a good time to cover it so that others may consider how to field the lineup.

Fab Four

Description:

• Up to four Units can be used.

What thrives with this ruleset?
Looking at the description, it is just that simple. Only a maximum of 4 cards can be used.

Now, 4 cards usage do disrupt quite a bit of strategy. Imagine if you take one spot of the four to plan a martyr card, is it worth it vs putting in an attacker?

In such a ruleset, the mana available for the match is key. It probably would not affect a low mana match but definitely will be a problem when you are only allowed 4 cards for a huge mana and if unable to fill it up sufficiently, you will be disadvantaged.

Simple thoughts, if the abilities are critical such as healing of any form of reflective attacks, I personally feel they can be included with a hit in using a card with lower mana cost. Otherwise, when given a huge mana to fill, we should try our best to fill, besides, big mana cards have a reason for them to be big mana to start with.

Nevertheless, when it swings to the low mana side, then cards with more ability to help sustain will do wonders.

Stats wise, the higher the better with regards to all aspects be it health, speed, armour or attack. In today's showcase, I will bring a match where I put in my absolutely best lineup.

With these in mind, let's start to talk about the battle proper.

Kelya Frendul	4	Summoner	My strongest summoner at level 3 and able to give me additional speed and one extra armour.
Nerissa Tridawn	9	1st	Hard hitting magic attacker with relatively high health.
Coastal Sentry	10	2nd	With sneak ruleset, this card is real good in terms of speed and the 4 melee damage.
Kulu Mastermind	9	3rd	Another hard hitter but in the form of melee and will hit from within due to sneak ruleset.
Djinn Oshannus	8	4th	With sneak ruleset, I put in Oshannus at the back in order to dodge any other melee attacks with its high speed.

Prediction before pressing rumble
Wow, both sides really put in their best for the match. I tried my best but still only fill up 40 mana.

Starting from my opponent, every single cards are hard hitting and even Djinn Chwala comes with thorns. Everything else either hits hard with 4-5 melee or has a double attack which Agor Longtail has. A very intimidating lineup.

While for me, I think I have put up whatever I could from my side with my higgest hitters and have potentially have a better chance due to higher speed for my lineup. So without further ado....

Let's battle!

Battle Synopsis

Round 1, All kinds of big damage start flying across, thankfully there was an armour coming from Kelya and Oshannus manage to hold on to 4 health while Drybone Barbarian on opponent side is down to 2. Do also note that Djinn Chwala is also low in health as well.

Round 2, Marisol acted fastest and smash Oshannus, while Kulu Mastermind returned the favour by smashing Drybone Barbarian. On the front line, Nerissa zapped and killed Djinn Chwala.

Round 3, No casualties this round with various cards flexing and smashing on one another and many cards are starting to drop to vulnerable health.

Round 4-6, Agor Longtail was easily disposed in round 4 while Marisol was fully disposed off in round 6 by Coastal Sentry securing the much deserved victory.

Post Battle Summary
A nice match with a good display of cards doing their best in all forms and it was down to how things started that determined how things ended. Having chosen magic attack somehow gave me an additional edge due to the avoidance of thorns and bypassing armour.

Did my strategy work? So glad I chose what I chose. These 4 cards selected are essentially the fantastic four or fabulous four with each being instrumental. Be it attack, speed or even summoner Kelya that gave the stat boost was right on and allowed the team to overcome another strong lineup on my opponent's end.

What's the Battle Mage Secret?

In today's match up, I have deployed 4 big guns to face my opponent. So in today's case, we are given a big mana to play and I do have 4 big mana cards in my Water Splinter arsenal to take up the challenge.

So the key is here, many of us because of frequent standard matches, do not really have big mana cards in our arsenal. But with the introduction of such a ruleset, we need to stock up on the big mana cards to rise up to the occasion.

If I do not have such cards, I would be in a very disadvantaged state at the mercy of my opponent. So today's battle mage secret is that, our arsenal cannot heavily tilted to one end but also be equally equipped.
