PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 25 Dec 2024

Greetings to all and blessed Christmas, the latest Brawl that my guild PIZZA 2 took part in had just completed a few hours ago. And it is time to look at how our guild did for this brawl on all aspects such as a guild, individually how each of the brawl matches went for me and the thoughts and decisions made behind how I put up each of my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. Let's continue to learn and review each battle that I had and learning to get better with each day of battling so that as a guild, we are able to get better position for future brawls.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is very beneficial for me because now that I only play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this modern fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I have gotten more cards from the last end of season, hopefully there are opportunities for me to use them. Let's get right on to the battles of the brawl.

	Remarks
Selection:	Lost Legendaries. Without legendaries no fear, I still have my favourite Quora. My standard setup will be a martyr card to give Quora a little boost. In the backline after Quora, I planned for Spellsmith to dispel any growing blood lust card with Goblin Psychic and Slipspawn to soak up damage and further heal up Quora. No legendary so I just fielded a Ujurak Elder to take up the last 3 mana.
Outcome:	Win! Quora was too hard for opponent to handle as she eats up card by card with strong support from the backline to allow her to be unscathed and healed up everytime to grow.

Brawl 2

	Remarks
Selection:	Weak Magic, Wands Out and Armoured Up. Limited choices due to the ruleset and it will be slow due to the weak magic. I lineup as many magic attackers I have in my collection, especially the Helheim Demon which is needed to taunt all damage towards it. Then I also had the Arachne Weaver that gives corrupted healing to keep the lineup healed up. Other cards in the lineup are mainly attackers to do significant damamge with Djinn Muirat to hold the front as a tank.
Outcome:	Win! Opponent gave up and only fielded a single Spirit Hoarder which had no chance against my full magic lineup. An astounding win!

Brawl 3

	Remarks
Selection:	Armoured Up and Up to Eleven. All I have is only 16 mana. I took a gamble and just fielded 2 additional 1 mana fodder behind Quora since I cannot put a martyr card to boost her.
Outcome:	Win! While I did win because of how strong Quora is, opponent's choice for Lord Thanalor is a good one as this card can really do strong damage and eat up cards one by one. If I do not heal up fast enough, I could be torn apart by it.

Brawl 4

	Remarks
Selection:	Odd Ones Out, Unprotected and Melee Mayhem. This is a match that will do well for loading up all kinds of melee attack and also those that do not have sneak or opportunity. I put up even Relenor Cleaver as Gladius of choice to smash hard on opponent since there is no armour to protect cards and I added an additional Kulu Mastermind to further do more damage.
Outcome:	Lose. While I had a good plan to smash my opponent hard with my strong melee cards, I was thwarted by my opponent whom had better ideas. A strong Inevitable with triage to heal Iziar and a Sola Ranjell to heal Inevitable creating an endless loop of healing that I cannot bring down. Really strong play by my opponent. Really strong card collection too.

Brawl 5

	Remarks
Selection:	Beefcake, Tis but Scratches and Deflection Field. When I looked at this, I thought a strong lineup that hits hard will do me good as I should be able to smash through opponent lineup with my big hitters.
Outcome:	Lost. While I planned for a heavy melee rampage, everything did went well quickly as I cleared a number of cards till I reached the Will-O-Wisp which was so hard to hit by my Grum Flameblade as it was high speed and flying. The I was killed by a consistent magic zap as my lineup didn't manage to hold up to the attacks and lost the match.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 6 matches this brawl and managed to win all 4 matches out of the 6 matches (including 1 fleeing opponent). Of the 2 matches that I've lost, one was due to being totally outclassed by a much stronger card collection while the other was because of a bad decision in strategy that I chose and ended up being taken out easily by my opponent.

Another strong result delivered by the team where we were able to come so close to the podium, especially when we only had 6 people competing in brawl. I really think we are really strong in our battling but we certainly need more to ensure we have more frays filled up. Our winning rate is overwhelming as compared to other guilds and we can definitely be better if we had more participants. Let's try to onboard more people and get them to strengthen our guild. Go PIZZA 2!

Closing
We have a strong team of players whom can fight well and win strong, look at our win rate and it tells you how strong we are. But we do lack players to fill up frays which ends up us giving free wins to other guilds even when their players are not as strong as ours. If you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls 2 times per week, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild, gold frays tend to have more free wins and please consider joining us if you can be regular. We are getting better in our participation already and getting better brawl rewards. Do check us out in the PIZZA discord and check with the guild officers to gain entry to the guild.
