My Loot: An End Of Season Story

It’s finally the end of season. Players from all over the world are opening their end of season reward with great anticipation. Many players are bound to be lucky and get some nice rewards from the reward chests but a greater number of them will end up in disappointment. This then begs the question: Did I belong to the former or the later?

Let’s find out together!

An hour or so after the season ends; I opened my laptop with both excitement and nervousness. With the previous three (3) season’s rewards ending up in disappointment, I was hoping that my luck would turn for the better thus allowing me to get better rewards. At the very least I was hoping that I’ll get slightly better rewards compared to the three (3) previous ones.

Of course knowing that I only finished in Silver 3 and therefore, only have twelve (12) reward chests to open, I tempered my expectations. After all as the saying goes: The less the expectations, the lesser the disappointment. Yeah, you all can probably guess how bad my reward for the previous three seasons was with that sentence.

Anyways, after opening the game and clicking the “Claim” button, I waited patiently for the reward chests to load. Fortunately, I didn’t wait for too long and the chests loaded without errors unlike the other times I tried to claim my reward chests.

Looking at the twelve (12), I hesitated for bit, not knowing which chest I should click first. Yeah, I’m one of those guys that think that clicking the chests at a certain order would help increase my chance of getting better loots. Well, considering that RNG is involved in the process, my way of thinking might not be wrong.

So having made up my mind, I decided to start at the chest from my upper left. The 1st chest I opened gave me a Pelacor Conjurer. Okay, not bad. The 2nd chest gave me another Pelacor conjurer. Still okay. The 3rd chest gave me 3 DEC which is bad. The 4th chest gave me a Legendary Potion Charge. Not the kind of "legendary" I wanted but it is what it is. Opening the 5th chest net me another Pelacor Conjurer, it’s not good but still okay.

Starting from my right didn’t go too well so I decided to start from my right for the next batch. Hopefully things would go well this time…

So starting from my right, I opened the 1st chest (should be the 6th chest by now), and received a Venari Heathsmith. I prefer the two rare Venaris (Lightsmith and Wavesmith) but it’s still a card so I’ll take it. For the next chest (7th), I netted another Venari Heathsmith which is meh.

The 8th chest gave me 9 DEC which is better than the 3 DEC I received previously but it’s still a meh since I can’t even buy the cheapest reward card with just 9 DEC. Opening the 9th chest reveals an Alchemy Potion Charge which is somewhat acceptable if it’s from a daily loot chest but is terrible coming from a reward chest.

Seeing the rewards I’ve gotten so far made me realize that my luck has yet to change. No, considering that I haven’t gotten even a single rare card, it might have become worse. Looking at the three (3) remaining reward chests made me nervous and slightly depress.

If the next rewards are as bad as the previous ones, then this season will end up being a dud. Feeling nervous, I opened the 10th chest, revealing a Pelacor Bandit. Damn! Wait! What’s this? Something’s happening, it’s turning gold!

Yes, I finally got something good! A gold foil Pelacor Bandit!
What a relief. It’s only common card but since it’s a gold foil card, the value increases significantly. This card alone actually made this EOS rewards marginally better than the previous three (3) seasons. There’s still no legendary card or a Chaos Legion pack, or even an epic card but beggars can’t be choosers, right?

So anyway, seeing that starting from my right led to a better gain, I decided to open the last two chests by starting right (pun intended). Opening the 11th chest produced my first rare card – an Exploding Rat. I was actually hoping that it’ll turn gold so I waited for a little bit before opening the 12th chest. Unfortunately, nothing happened and the card remained a regular rare card. What a bummer…

Last was the 12th chest and opening it revealed… an Alchemy Potion Charge.

“……………”

And so it ends.

As one could see; my end of season rewards wasn’t too hot. I won’t say that it’s bad since I’ve gotten a gold foil card but it’s not good either. But hey, at least it’s better than the previous three (3) seasons where I only gotten a few rare cards, right? Well, yeah but it’s only slightly better. If the Exploding Rat turned gold then this season is saved. Unfortunately, RNG didn’t favor me again this season which made this time's EOS rewards only “slightly” better.

Anyway, that’s all I have for now. See you all again next time.
