In MoonKarts, the thrill of the race is underpinned by a deep, multi-layered rewards system that ties performance, time invested, NFT tier, and governance engagement into how much you can earn. It’s not just about crossing the finish line first—it’s about how you play, what you bring, and how committed you are.

What Determines Your Earnings

There are four major levers that affect reward potential:

  • Skill — how consistently you win races and perform well.

  • Time played — regular activity and frequent participation.

  • NFT quality — high-tier drivers, karts, parts, etc. in your loadout boost earning potential.

  • Staked governance tokens (COLONY) — staking increases your take, especially in leaderboards and other pools.

If you’re missing or weak in any one of these, your rewards will lag behind more complete players.

Reward Distribution Pools

COLONY tokens are allocated daily from Arcade Colony, split across distinct channels:

  • Orbitals Pool (40%) — for players earning “Orbitals”, a separate point category when they collect these in races and finish while keeping them.

  • Ranking Pool (25%) — rewards tied to leaderboard performance.

  • COLONY tokens found on track (10%) — pickups during races.

  • Referral Pool (5%) — for bringing in new paying players.

  • Seasonal Rewards Pool (20%) — cumulative rewards over 10-day cycles, based on leaderboard positions.

Ways to Earn

You can earn via:

  • Picking up COLONY during a race and winning while still holding them.

  • Climbing daily and seasonal leaderboards (both for skill and for Orbitals).

  • Referral bonuses: when your referrals spend money in the store, you get points and part of the referral pool.

Safeguards & Bonus Features

To maintain fairness, there are caps: e.g. a player can’t grab more than 0.5% of the total rewards pool or more than 10% of the Referral Pool per day. What you don’t claim rolls over. Also, “Moon Domes” are upcoming: owning one means you receive 10% of tokens from any race held in your dome.
