Christmas Through My Eyes: The Fun and the Fatigue
Christmas season is always an exciting one that's filled with many heartwarming activities that light up our world, and that's probably why it's one of the most anticipated festive seasons in a year. Despite how great Christmas is and can be, we can't disregard the fact that it's a season that always presents us with lots of stress that can go on to weigh us down. Although on most occasions we might not feel or give in to those stresses until the celebrations are over, after that we're so weak to the point where it feels like we've been through hell. In this article today I'll be stating what brings about stress for me during Christmas season.

To start with, it's worth knowing that I've been celebrating Christmas since I was a child till now that I'm an adult, and I can tell you for a fact that each phase of my life while celebrating Christmas, though fun and exciting, has also been merged with stress. That's to say, Christmas is both stressful to children and adults, although the way that comes is different depending on our age grade. Take, for instance, when I was a child. The things that brought about stress for me were, one, the fact that you'll be sent on many errands during the festive season; it's actually very common, and regardless of how prepared the adult seems to be, they'll definitely forget something that the children would be asked to go and purchase in the neighborhood.
Secondly, what brings about stress to me as a child during Christmas is the number of chores you've got to do during Christmas, especially in the area of cleaning. During Christmas as a child, I've got lots of plates to wash, which is way more than the regular number of plates I do wash in a normal day; doing that many chores can be exhausting. Thirdly, it's still in the area of running errands, but this time it's being tasked with sharing food all around to your neighbors, although this can be a blessing at times because the people you're asked to give food to can tip you with money or candles, but overall at the end of the day you'll be exhausted due to how tiring it is to walk around the neighborhood.

Now that I'm an adult, the things that make Christmas stressful are way different from when I was a child, and number one on the list is finances. You see, when I was a child, I had no reason to worry about this aspect, but now that I'm an adult, this aspect plays a huge role in inflicting me with mental stress because, you know, you need money to make the season exciting. Another thing that often makes Christmas stressful for me is the issue of traveling. Yes, I love seeing my family and loved ones and enjoy their company to the fullest, but reality meets me when I have to travel back home and face the bad road, gridlock, and stress that comes from going through all that for hours.

Yes I agree. You need money to enjoy this season. Anyone who doesn’t have money is probably home sleeping.
But imagine if you were a kid, you wouldn’t have to even think about all these things.
