This is a data- driven beginners companion to Obsidian. We have anatomized800.000 matches featuring Obsidian in the Tableware league.

This companion is predicated on match statistics that we have collected since the launch of Chaos Legion. We will use data from Gray league, because strategies in Tableware league are more refined than in Citation, while still primarily predicated on position 1 free-to- play cards. So using this as a base is ideal for creating a beginners companion, which is the purpose of this post.
Obsidian is presently the most popular starting summoner, and for good reason. Her starting sundeck is truly important compared to the others. Still, you must still have some idea about how to play her, and you will also constantly find yourself faced with a glass competition Obsidianvs. Obsidian. Hopefully this companion will help you secure those triumphs and climb up the ranking.

The companion features an prolusion to Obsidian and her most important cards. We also cover team setup at a range of manas, and we bat the swish options for first card purchases to expand your Obsidian sundeck.
Obsidian, the last Earth magician, bobbled her whole village before joining the Chaos Legion. Seems like a bit of anover- response, but thats what we ’re told about her background. Not the nicest person around, and she brings pain (and match losses) to her opponent in multitudinous Splinterlands matches.
Obsidian amplifies the magic monsters in her team with 1 magic damage. Since magic damage can't miss, except for attacks on the numerous monsters who have Phase, this is a truly important buff. Now, Obsidian has enough important taken over Alric’s part, although there is farther counterplay available due to the differences in the old water sundeck and the new earth sundeck. This is good, as playing Obsidian takes a little farther involvement and strategy from the player than playing Alric Stormbringer did.
Starting Sundeck comments
When you play Obsidian, you want to include multitudinous magic monsters in your team. This way, you get the most benefit from you summoner buff, and you will constantly be suitable to shred through your opponents team, one monster at the time, with the magic damage focus fire. Predicated on the stats, and as you will see in the team section below, the most important card in Obsidian’s starting sundeck is the Regal Peryton

LORE

The fearsome woman now known as Obsidian grew up in the remote vill of Stonebluff as the last remaining Earth voodoo. Each time, Earth elementalists went off to contend in the contest, quitting Obsidian to train the coming origination of soldiers. She wished to join the contest of titleholders, but the vill elders advised her against it, saying she demanded to stay before and concentrate on seasoning others to use Earth magic.

She grew resentful of the way she was treated, knowing she was better than former Magians before her. So, she planned her vengeance. In a mine near the vill, she tutored classes on Earth magic and gained the trust of her scholars. Her training were emphatic and those who couldn't follow ways were penalized, forced to magically hold obsidian above their heads until it fell on them. She ultimately learned to use obsidian to enhance the powers of others. And there was one apprentice she took under her sect. Someone who carried equal wrathfulness in his heart. She developed his capacities in combat practice against other scholars, making him stronger and further ferocious than his opponents.
The vill sat at the bottom of a precipice in the Tower Mountains where frequent gemstone slides passed. Not a case for Magians blessed in Earth magic, but Obsidian and her apprentice no longer watched for the vill. She saw it as an occasion to leave behind her old life and find a challenge good of her power.

She transferred her apprentice to beget a massive gemstone avalanche. Standings at a distances, she used her Power to amplifying his owner. Her other scholars rushed to stop it, but they weren't over to the task. Not against similar raw power. The jewels and debris fell, covering her home, leaving it a ruined field of boulders and dust. She and her adjunct were the only survivors. Word spread of the apocalypse in the mountains and only whispers remained of Stonebluff.
Obsidian walked down with her head held high knowing she had proven them all wrong. She and her apprentice dissolved across the ocean and made their way from city to city. They heard of the terror of the Chaos Legion and followed their wake of destruction until they captured the absorption of Silus of the Rift. To show off their power, she amplified her apprentice's magic to control and torture Silus' adversaries. Silus made Obsidian a close counsel, a tool used to gain facts through atrocity.
