5 Overpowered Untamed cards in Diamond league

Hi fellow Battle Mages!

It is another article from the 5 Cards series. This time I am writing about 5 overpowered cards from the Untamed expansion.

I joined the game right after Untamed cards skyrocketed so I didn't make any real investment when we are talking about Untamed. It was just too expensive for me, and it still is. Actually, it is too expensive for most of the players even if you are playing in the Diamond or Champion League.

Failed summoner

A very expensive card where you will pay around 300 USD for a max level copy. Now it does not seem to be worth that kind of money because you can buy one max-level Chaos Legion Splinter for that amount of money or at least all key cards. But this card is just so good. For only 2 mana you will get a body with 10 health and that is amazing, especially in low-mana games.

Magic Reflect ability is great, especially against cards that provide a lot of buffs and debuffs like Time Mage, which can kill himself in 2 turns. Demoralize ability is also very good, especially when paired with Mylor Crowling. Strengthen is also very helpful as it gives your team more health which makes it harder to kill.

Truthspeaker

Oh, I really hate this card, I lost so many games because of it, but on the other side, it is soo good and that is because of all of its abilities. Life Splinter is based around armor, repairs, and heals. It is because most of the monsters are slow or they don't have very high attack. This is a problem and that's why those monsters must survive so they can do some damage.

Cleanse is another great ability that will remove Posion or Affliction from your tank. It is very good in combination with Shieldbearer, Uriel, or maybe Agor if you are using Dragon summoner. Tank healing is also very helpful to keep those tanks alive. Truthspeaker is very good in combination with Almo Cambio. Truthspeaker can Cleanse and Heal Almo while Almo is reflecting magic and ranged attacks. If you pair that up with a monster with Repair ability you got yourself a combination that is very hard to beat.

Living Lava

It is a good card that you don't see that often because of its price and that's why it is a great card. It is amazing in that magic monsters are not allowed a ruleset because otherwise, it is a little bit weak if your opponent is playing an all-magic team. Two or three attacks will shred Living Lava apart. Shield ability is what you need against melee and raged attackers an that is nothing new.

What is interesting about this card is Rust ability. It is interesting because you are not expecting it from Fire splinter and it can easily catch you off-guard. It is an interesting card if you are playing monsters that are vulnerable to opportunity attacks, like Djinn Inferni. I lost quite a few games because of that. Cherry on the top is Thorns ability that will punish your opponent if they decide to use melee attacks. Overall, an amazing card that I would really like in my deck. Unfortunately, 150 USD for a max-level copy is too much for me and I can see better ways to invest that money, and Living Lava will remain in my renting roster.

Shieldbearer

Another iconic card from the Life Splinter that I do not own. Shield and Return Fire abilities make this guy really overpowered and buying and renting prices are reflecting how good Shieldbearer really is. His Taunt ability is exactly what Life Splinter needs, it protects fragile backline which deals damage, and supports Shieldbearer with repairs and heals. The only downside is his weakness to magic attacks but if played with Grandmaster Rathe even that is not a problem.

The perfect time to play Shieldbearer is when you expect your opponent will play range heavy team. Shield ability will reduce damage taken and Return Fire will hit them in the face with their own attacks. An alternative to Shieldbearer would be Almo Cambio, and I would dare to say an even better one because it is a card from Neutral Splinter so it can be played with any other Splinter.

Magnor

Magnor is a real beast and rightfully he is first on this list. When enraged it just cuts through your tanks leaving nothing behind, and yes, when it kills something he uses his Tremple ability so he can take a second target in your team. It is even scarier when played in combination with Conqueror Jacek as he provides him additional speed and most importantly Piercing damage.

Taunt is his strength and his weakness at the same time because of the Furry ability. Also Giant Killer is the ability that can really hurt Magnor. The conclusion is that this is an amazing card that can bring you a big advantage in those Diamond and Champion battles.
