Cheap Chaos Legion GOLD Decks - Life Splinter

Time is passing by and slowly more and more people is building their Chaos Legion decks. At this point I do have really good and competitive Chaos Legion Silver deck. I managed to max-out all those new and amazing cards for the Silver league. I guess that is the case for a lot of Splinterlands players. And what now? What is next?

Well there are several options like investing into the SPS, Vouchers, DEC(for that amazing SPS airdrop), Land or simply cards. If you are anything like me, then you are one of those people that really like to play Splinterlands. I am in this game for a bit less than a year and it seems to me that cards were never cheaper. And they won't be for long. Splinterlands has started with marketing, more and more players is coming into the game, and prices will go up eventually. Thats why I decided that my next step is going to be leveling two decks to Gold league level.

Don't get me wrong. It is looking like LAND expansion is going to be huge and very important for the future of the Splinterlands, but at the moment I decided for more cards, simply because buying a land is a big gamble, at least when you are paying around 400 USD per plot.

Maxed-out Gold Deck

Now when I covered the Silver league it is time to go for Gold league. To be honest you can get decent number of wins with cards max-out only for the Silver league in the Gold league. While this is possible it gets easier with higher level cards and that means more wins which means more DEC and rewards. I decided for two splinters which seems cheapest to me. Those are Life and Death splinters.

Why those two splinters? Well they are the cheapest, at least summoners are way cheaper than those from other splinters. In this article we will cover Life splinter.
I decided for General Sloan and that amazing ranaged damage. There are some amazing cards that are working quite well with Mother Khala but I went for a cheaper version. While playing with the Life splinter I noticed that its problem is that most of the monsters are really slow. In the Silver league I solved that problem by using Shieldbearer as a tank. Thats how my other monsters like Pelacor Arbalest stay protected for at least one turn. At the moment Shieldbearer is priced at around 10 USD per BCX. That means I would have to spend 400 USD to get him on level 5 where he gets the Shield ability. This is just too much for me so I decided for different approach. I am trying to outspeed my enemy by using Time Mage with the Slow ability and Supply Runner with the Swiftness ability. On top of that Time Mage has Rust ability on level 6 that helps a lot with ranged damage as it removes that annoying armor(especially against the Water splinter).

Time Mage and Supply Runner may be the core cards here but we all know that we still need tanks, even if we do have speed advantage. Once again I went for tanks that are not the ordinary ones even I still have a proper tank in my sleeve. As a tank I will often use Pelacor Conjurer and Chaos Agent. Level 8 Chaos Agent is not that cheap but it is one of those cards that you will use again and again. I think that this he is amazing investment at this point because for only 1 mana you will get amazing monster that can dodge all attacks. He gets even better when buffed by Supply Runner and when your opponents team is debuffed by Time Mage. Pelacor Conjurer is another amazing card with Flying, Magic Reflect and Divine Shield abilities. With 6 speed, when buffed,and 7 health he is a real beast for only 2 mana.

After all this I like having that security in form of Hero of Beyond. Yup, I know that he is really expensive, especially level 3 when he shines with the Last Stand ability but try to buy at least one copy. Close Range ability is the reason why we love this guy as it enables us to use him in the first spot. With decent health pool and some armor you can be sure that he will tank a few hits.

In the end, we still need a few cards to complete our deck to be competitive in the Gold league. That is why we still ned a few cards. I like those few cards that I am using all the time, like Xenith Archer. I like this card as it costs only 2 mana so it is easy to include this card in any team. Portal Spinner is another card that I like. It feels a bit situational because of Scatter ability, but still we cant neglect that amazing attack and 1 armor that will often give it at least one extra attack. Last card, that is a must-have, is the Prismologist. Amazing damage with the Blast and Force Field ability. A perfect card for the last spot in your team to tank all those big sneak attacks from monsters like Sand Worm.

Summary

For only 348 USD we can get a decent Life team at this time. I feel that you can save some money if you are buying this deck over some time, but it will take a while to get 220 copies of some cards. Most of our money will be spent on General SLoan but we need to spend that money. For this money, we will get 13600 CP. Surely there are better USD/CP opportunities but I was focusing on the cheapest deck that could be viable. If you have better ideas please let me know down in the comment.
