Proud landowner - status of my assets

Summer is almost here and with it, those changes that are announced in the Splinterlands Roadmap are getting closer. And those changes are not big, they are huge, and it is very hard to prepare for all of that. We are talking about Land 1.5 Phase, Ranked Battle changes which include SPS staking instead of CP req, Blocking Bots from Modern format, and a new Mini-Set of cards.

It is really hard to invest in everything because you will need that SPS, you want that new jucy cards and it would be nice to have some land in your portfolio. Well I know that I will never have enough SPS, cards will probably be expensive at the start of the sale so I invested some of my resources into the land.

I am hoping that I will be able to get my money back in a few months if the price of the grain will be decent. By decent I mean in the range of 0.5 - 0.8 DEC per grain.

So let's get into my land portfolio. First of all, you need plots. My goal was to start with 5 plots, where I would have one plot of each resource. Not that changed a bit as I believe that Grain will be expensive in the first few months so I switched my focus to plots that will generate grain.

So 2 River and 1 Lake plot will generate grain for me. I also bought Canyon and Bog plots where I will harvest Stone and Wood. I am still missing a plot where I could harvest Ore, but that will come in the future. To start I need 15 max-level monsters that will work on my Grain plots. I will not fill my Wood and Stone plots because these are not resources that could be farmed in Phase 1.5.

So with plots taken care of I still need cards that I will stake on those plots. If you are following my Land posts you know that I decided on Common GF monsters. Because I will farm Grain on River and Lake I need Water and Earth Splinter monsters that will produce an additional 10% of Grain due to the terrain type bonus.

Of course, I decided on the cheapest monsters in the form of Merdhampirs and occasional Pelacor Bandit or Mercenary. Bandits and Mercenaries are amazing GF cards that I plan to unstake and sell/rent and replace with Soulbound cards that I am earning as a reward. If you counted well you noticed I have only 13 out of 15 needed cards. Yes, funds are the problem and I am trying to find some better deals. At this time you can get a maxed-out Common GF card for about 12.50 USD. A few weeks ago you could buy it for about 11 USD. So we can clearly see that demand is quite high.

So yes, 2 GF cards still missing which could be around 25 USD.

The last thing that I still need is DEC that I will have to stake. And to be honest I just started to save that DEC and I am only on 8k out of 150k. So that is additional 120 USD that I will have to invest into the game.

In the end, I still need to find 150 USD to acquire everything that is needed for my plots to work. I could sell my 2 plots for that but I don't really like that option. It makes me feel like a proud landowner.

By some standards, I know that these 5 plots are not much but it is not little either. We all know that these assets will appreciate over time and it is important that every cent and every SPS counts. We should have in mind that only 150k of land plots will be available and there will not be enough for everyone. This is something I am confident about.

If you are looking at Splinterlands Roadmap, the Land should be out by August 1st. That means we have a max month and a half until the land is out. Now we know that Splinterland's deadlines can sometimes slide but even if that happens it won't be for months. Maybe for a week or two if there are some bugs that should be fixed before going into production. So what I am trying to say is:

Prepare yourself for Land expansion.
