Share Your Battle - You can win without expensive cards

Rebellion 4.jpg

Hi my fellow summoners. After a long time, I am writing about a game, or better to say, how you can win without all those really expensive cards. It's been a few weeks since Rebellion was launched and we are still getting used to new cards that we got in that set. The Rebellion set is not cheap, well at least in comparison with the Chaos Legion set. Now I am looking at max-level cards and some common cards could be found for about 48 USD and more. If you look at that objectively it is not that bad, but you need to pick cards that will provide substantial advantage to your deck and to your gameplay.

But even without these Rebellion cards, you can still get quite a few wins. Let me show you how. Here you can see one of my latest battles against an opponent that used 3 Rebellion cards.

By looking at your opponent's match history you can see how often they used some card in the last 5 games. I often check if players are using Mantaroth or Grimbardun Smith. There are methods how to go around these annoying monsters and end up victorious.

Let's talk about this battle - and yes I will not go through every turn an what happened. I will try to explain my process of thinking while setting up the team and the reasoning behind why I picked certain cards.

I saw that my opponents liked to play Mantaroth so I knew that I needed something against his armor because that is the worst part about that card and that solution was Immortalis with his Shatter ability. So ok, that's one thing taken care of.

There was a ruleset called Broken Arrows which means that ranged attack monsters cannot be used. It means only melee and magic attacks are what I need to worry about. Immortalis with Void ability takes care of magic attacks as well. That means only melee attacks will be the problem. That is the reason why I picked an amazing reward card in this situation, Dumacke Orc. Of course second ruleset "Equalizer" helped with that choice. Now Dumack Orc has only 1 health but with the Equalizer ruleset, he will have the same health as all other monsters. What is especially good about him is his abilities Shield, Retaliate, and Thorns which makes him an absolute beast against melee attacks.

In the second spot, I added Junker. His Reach ability and Repair make him a great fit for this exact matchup. Repair will make my Dumacke Orc live longer and Reach will give me another melee monster to attack as I thought that opponent could play Immortalis.

The rest of the team is quite predictable. Dr. Blight is one of the best cards in the game due to Scavenger and Poison abilities. Goblin Psychic is here so he could heal Dumacke Orc and Peryton and Magi are here for the damage. Considering everything, a very straightforward team that did its job.

Let's take a look at the opponent's team. Some expensive cards that I mentioned are Croire, Mantaroth, and Moxian Rebel, all new Rebellion cards. We all know why Mantharoth is amazing but Croire is also an amazing card and we should talk about why. Flank is an amazing ability that will allow a second melee monster to attack. It has a decent amount of health and Heal ability. For only 6 mana, that is an amazing card but in this case, maybe it was used in the match with too much mana because, in the end, you can kill it very easily since it does not have any defensive abilities.

Moxian Rebel is also an amazing card, but in this context, he didn't help a lot. He is best used with the cards that have no attack but cards that have a lot of abilities.

Overall it was an amazing game. I am happy to see new Rebellion cards in the action and I am hoping that one day I will own some of these cards as well. Until then I will rent those cards that I need to win more.

Good Luck and see you on the battlefield!
