Silver League Water and Neutral Splinter deck

Recently I started playing my alt account again, Purplebat, and I am really satisfied with how things are going so far so I decided to share that experience with the community. I also tried to switch my blogging account to that account but curators don't want to upvote me so I guess I will stay on this account.

It was my plan of creating a separate content creation account there but after rethinking it I decided to come back to my original "Vjekich" account. That means, there will be no more content on Purplebat :(

So let's start with deck building!

Water Splinter

I must say that I am playing Wild format with my alt Purplebat as it is more fun for me, especially in the lower leagues. I really like those old cards that can help you climb lower ranks really fast. So let's start with the summoners.

If you ask me Water Splinter summoners are one of the best in the game. You can get both, or just one but both Alrics Stormbringer and Kelya Frendul are amazing. The only problem is that those are not cheap to buy, even not cheap to rent. You will need level 4 summoners. Kelya is quite expensive around 37 DEC while Alrics is surprisingly cheaper at around 17 DEC. You don't need both summoners. If you have DEC for both summoners just go for it, as it gives you flexibility in your team selection. If you go for Kelya you will probably want to rent a more melee-focused team. On the other hand, if you go for Alric magic team is what you want.

Djinn Oshannus, Venari Wavesmith, Deeplurker, and Tide Biter are the core of this water team. You will probably use those cards whenever you can. Wavesmith is one of the best cards in the Silver League. Due to his ability to provide 2 additional armor and with 2 magic damage he is a real beast. I remember times when it was selling for 2 USD per BCX and it is not unrealistic that we see that price again. Deeplurker is an amazing card. I often play him in combination with Flying Squid, but lately, with the new Souldbound card Kulu Mastermind, I finally got my opportunity partner in Water Splinter. Of course, you can add Feasting Seaweed there for some extra firepower. Tide Biter is also very good, especially in low-mana matches and when there is Blast damage involved as on level 3 it will block incoming blast damage.

On the second tier, you can add cards like Pelacor Bandit, Flying Squid, Cruel Sethropod, Crustacean King, and Axemaster. All these are cards that you would use in combination with Kelya. You can add there even some cards that are not on the list like Sabre Shark or Coral Wrait that could boost your Sneak attack play.

Pelacor Bandit is the card that I use quite often in combination with Uraeus and Sabre Shark. With those 3 cards pressure on enemys, backline is quite strong. Flying Squid is used when there is a high-mana ruleset. It is not as good as Deeplurker but still a really good card. One card that I forgot to mention until now is Diemonshark. I often use him as the main tank, but other cards like Spineback Turtle and Sea Monster could fill that role as well. If you have Diemonshark you probably don't need Sea Monster. Same as if you have Spineback Turtle you don't need Cruel Sethropod. Spend your DEC carefully and pick only the cards that you really need.

If you decide to go the other way there are pretty decent magic options from which you can pick. Djinn Oshannus is probably one of the core cards in this build and if you can get level 2. Venari Wavesmith is amazing because of his Protect ability and will help your team to stay alive for longer periods of time. Now there are plenty of mid-range options like River Nymph, Sea Genie, Medusa, and Mischievous Mermaid. Another great option with Oshannus is Nerissa Tridawn which will provide a little bit more bulk and magic damage. In the end, we can't go past Ice Pixie. Amazing 2 mana card that can fill almost any spot.

There are a few situational cards like Demented Shark that will buff your Sneak or Opportunity attackers, Albatros, Hardy Stonefish, and Torrent Fiend - cards that you need to fill those 1 mana slots. Sometimes those cards can be the difference between victory and defeat so don't overlook those. Merdaali Guardian and Crustacean King could be amazing options as well. Especially when paired with cards like The Kraken, even at level 1. Sometimes your enemy just can't go through that bulk and annoying heal.

Full Magic Water team you can rent for about 32 DEC/day and that is not much money for such a team. Of course, you would need some fillers there but I guess that you can get the whole team for about 40-50 DEC MAX.

If we are talking about a melee team you would need to spend a bit more, around 47 DEC/day. The biggest spender there is Kelya with 37 DEC. But don't forget, Kelya and Alric are one of the best summoners in the game so the price is a bit higher but that's why it should bring you good results as well.

Is 98 DEC per day for the whole Water team too much for the Silver league? I would say that it is. But you don't have to rent the whole team. Focus on the cards that are really important. The biggest expenses are the summoners and if you can find those around 10 DEC/day then you can be very profitable.

Neutral Splinter

With Water Splinter, you want to use Neutral Splinter as well. There are some amazing cards in there that could be very useful. Creeping Ooze is certainly one of the. One mana card that slows the enemy team can come really handy and you can find a place for Ooze most of the time. Disintegrator is useful because of his Demoralize ability. You will often use that card in only melee games or when you are expecting a heavy melee composition. It is a really annoying card on the lower levels and when paired with Shield ability that will greatly reduce melee damage. Level 2 is optimal because of that extra health that can go a long way.

Sand Worm is another reward card that stood the test of time and it is used very frequently. 5 damage is something that you just can't ignore, especially in the Silver league, as there are not a lot of monsters with Forcefield ability. Once again Sand Worm will get additional speed on level two and that can boost his hit rate quite a lot.

Chaos Agent and Furious Chicken are amazing cards that you will use in low-mana matches. They can take a hit or two, if you are lucky, and turn the tide of a battle in your favor. You would not believe how many matches I won just because of Furious Chicken.

Uraeus is one of the best cards on this list and it is a must-buy. Two damage is nice but the best part is that 1 armor that will block one attack. It will often take 2 or 3 hits to kill Uraeus. That means he will do at least 4 and maybe even 6 damage to your enemy. Good trade for only 3 mana. You want to max out this card for any league.

Xenith Archer is a nice card when you want to squeeze in just a little bit more damage. Gargoyle Devil is used in those Earthquake rulesets when you need flying cards. I find myself using that card quite often. Scavo Hireling is a real beast with Repair ability and at least level 2 is a must for every team.

Arkemis the Bear is a card that is quite expensive but it is worth it. Level 1 could work for Protect ability but level 4 is where you want this guy. Halving is an amazing ability and I lost many games because of this bear. Get this guy to level for and you won't regret it. Magi of Chaos is just a really amazing card. You can use him in both Water and Earth magic teams so he is quite versatile with good attack and good health. On top of that, it kinda reminds me of Loki from Marvel movies and that is definitely a plus in my book.

TOTAL SPENT5.99 DEC/day

An additional 6 DEC per day would be required for some key cards from Neutral Splinter. Of course, there are many other cards that could be useful in different situations but I feel that these cards could represent the core Water Splinter deck. From there you can start building in the direction which you prefer. Most of the DEC is spent on summoners but these summoners are one of the best in the game. If you are lucky maybe you can find some better prices.

It is the perfect time to buy some cards and rebuild your deck. Packs are not selling as fast as expected so prices are stable. I expect them to go down even more once we sell more packs. But there is always a possibility of new players joining and buying tons of cards, so be careful. If you are not playing #splinterlands yet, now is the perfect opportunity to join while you can get all those amazing cards at special prices. Come and join Splinterlands Discord and find out more.
