The Beautiful Art of Chaos Legion

In case you missed it, Chaos Legion has arrived. We still do have some time until January 17 when the General sale will start but all Chaos Legion cards are playable and we can use them freely.

While everyone is trying to snap up some good deals with the new Chaos Legion cards I am patiently waiting for January 17 and my opportunity to buy some packs, for the first time since I started playing Splinterlands(June 2021).

In the meantime, I will focus on writing more articles about the Chaos Legion and the cards that I am planning to buy for my collection. This article will not be about the economy but about the beautiful art that the Splinterlands creative team created for us.

So let's pick some of the best art that is created for the Chaos Legion expansion.

The Beautiful Art Picks

I went through all cards a few times and it is very hard to pick just a few that are looking most beautiful to me. It is not just about visuals. The content team really surpassed themself and provided us with some amazing Lore. Every character has an amazing description and background and I am really enjoying reading those stories.

I will single out a couple of characters that left me completely speechless.

5. Kelya Frendul - at first I was not amazed by the art of Kelya. Not until I downloaded the card to create a footer image for my post(yeah, you can see it below). This is the moment when I zoomed into the picture and saw this remarkable work.

The face of Kelya Frendul perfectly captures that "Brig it on" attitude that you can find very often at Dwarfs. I enjoyed Lore as well. Dwarven mercenary hired by Chaos Legion to fight by their side. TO be honest I expected something different from a Dwarf rather than a Water magic user. But that's why Splinterlands content team is here, to surprise us with something new. I hope that I am not the only one that captured the beauty behind this character. I will surely battle a lot of times using Kelya, the only difference is that I will fight for DEC and she fights for gold.

4. Radiated Brute - Maybe not the most beautiful card that I could find but it surely is a special one - at least for me. I played World of Warcraft for many years and if you did the same as me, then Radiated Brute must remind you about Undead Warrior at a low level. Look that shoulder pads, is not that familiar?

This card is a bit more cartoonish but I like it a lot, same as I like the Lore. People fell ill, same as this poor soul that got infected by the plague brought by Doctor Blight. Not only did people get ill, but the plague changed plants and animals as well. Jax was just another victim of terrible Chaos Legion.

3. Tenyii Striker - Absolutely outstanding art on this card. The level of details is amazing. The first thing I noticed was the cloak/cape. It is so detailed and it gives him that Samurai feel. It took me a while but I also noticed amazing work on the sword. It feels that this guy is a skilled warrior from a rich Samurai family. This card just feels and looks amazing.

Lore sounds really interesting and explains why Tenyii Strikers are such a deadly foe. To be honest, I do not understand the Lore as I would like to, so it seems that I should read a bit more about Chaos Legion expansion. Visually I think that this card is a masterpiece.

2. Soul Strangler - Such weird, creepy, and spooky cards. A perfect card for Death splinter. It perfectly catches what Soul Strangler is, a mix between human and Vampire. A Baron that loves his people but also likes his unique flavor.

I absolutely love amazing Lore for Soul Strangler. I hope that all other cards in the future will have a long story as Soul Strangler. A good reading material that pulls you deeper into the Chaos Legion story. Amazing stuff.

1. Zyvax Vuul - And this is my number one pick. Maybe expected, maybe not. But this guy is looking amazing. This card seems so nice, maybe because of Runes that are all over his body. They give him much-needed contrast and he feels like a very powerful magic user.

The Lore perfectly describes how powerful and cruel Zyvax really is. The true master of Dragon magic and a truly ferocious warrior that can fire his claws at the enemy, only for them to immediately regenerate. He feels like a combination of Wolverine and Nightcrawler. I absolutely love him and can't wait to pick him on the market.

Summary

That's it, my top 5 picks of the new Chaos Legion cards. Not by strength but by beauty and lore. There are other amazing cards that may be more beautiful and more interesting to others but at this moment I decided on those. Let me know what you think.
