Waka Spiritblade - is it worth it?

Waka Spiritblade launch is just around the corner and a lot of people are wondering should they buy this amazing summoner. His Poison ability is just amazing and it seems overpowered. It could be a real game-changer and it could help you in climbing those ladders and getting those end-of-season rewards. But is it really worth that much money?

If you want Waka Spiritblade you need to empty your pockets. Well, this is true for most of the player base. Still, some people are thinking about this summoner even though they don't have maxed-out cards. If you want to buy this card you will have to pay 500 Vouchers AND 5000 SPS. At the moment of writing, this article Vouchers are 2.09 USD per Voucher which is equal to 1000 USD, and 5000 SPS will cost you 645 USD. That means that you will pay 1650 USD for the max level summoner. Yes, you do have a chance of getting Gold Foil Waka Spiritblade, and then your investment will surely pay off. Are you that lucky?

My thoughts of buying Waka Spiritblade

If you don't have maxed-out Chaos Legion, Dice, and Untamed cards, I would say that it is not a good idea to get Waka Spiritblade. Yes, he is amazing, Poison ability is insane and you can target almost every monster in your opponent's team but on the other hand, you are missing other amazing opportunities.

For example, you could get a decent Gold league deck for that money. How do I know? Because I bought myself a decent Gold team for that kind of money. You could buy 412 Chaos Legion packs, which seems like an amazing investment. If Chaos Legion packs will be half of the Untamed price in the future, you could get more than 20k USD on that investment. You could invest in the Vouchers, into the SPS, and my favorite investment, into the new Chaos Legion cards. You will get more power, more SPS airdrop points, and the ability to rent those cards and get your money back. These are the most obvious opportunities that I can see. Please, do your own research as I am just another guy that is writing a few articles per week. This is not financial advice.

What if I do have maxed-out cards and I already invested into the Vouchers and SPS?

Well, in that case, you probably are not reading this article for my advice. Don't get me wrong, Waka Spiritblade is an amazing card and I would be so happy if I could get one. But if you are on a limited budget, then chances are that this is not a smart investment for you.

If you ask me, I am pretty sure that at least one of the new airdrop summoners will have the Immunity ability to counter Waka. It seems cheaper to invest in that new summoner than into Waka Spiritblade - of course, if you are concerned about your winning rate. Most of the Waka's should be used in Diamond and above so I guess that it won't affect us mortals very much.

Summary

Waka Spiritblade is an amazing card and if you do have enough money, yes, go for it. Just don't sacrifice other parts of Splinterlands for o only one card. Think about what this card will bring you. Would you have more fun with Waka? Would it enable you more earnings? What is an upside and what is a downside for you? I know that Waka is a hard pass for me but it could be an amazing deal for you.

Is it worth 1650 USD? Absolutely!! Should you sacrifice other aspects of Splinterlands for only one overpowered card? Absolutely NO! I hope that this helps! Cheers!
