Was that the best Splinterland's Town Hall so far?

On May 8th, there was a Splinterlands Town Hall where many new things were announced, some not for the first time. Most of the community does not realize that such things are actually a big deal and if you are considering yourself as a serious investor you should take a deeper look at those things. So let's get started!

Chibi Dinos - there is a lot of speculation around Chibi Dinos. What we know is that Splinterlands will send some of the codebases to help Chibi Dinos with the game. What does that mean? Splinterlands "Platform team" is helping Chibi to build their games. These new games should not be connected to the Splinterlands in any way, but maybe there would be some kind of collaboration with GLS. It means that Chibi Dinos should not have an impact on the SPS token as a big part of the community initially thought.

What is the benefit?

As Splinterlands as a company is adding more games to its portfolio a lot of people from those games will be able to easily find out and get into other games like Splinterlands, Soulkeep, GLS, Primal Hoop, and so on. This could be a good thing for Splinterlands player base growth.

It opens easy access to other partnerships especially because Chibi Dinos is a game that is built on the Unity Engine. Those games are visually appealing and could bring tons of new players and new collaborations with big companies like EA, and Blizzard.

Player retention

It is very pricey to get new players in the bear market so Splinterlands is focusing on player retention. This will include new player onboarding, making things interesting for the new players and quite simple. The last few months, or even a year were not a good times to acquire new players because of certain events that happened in the crypto world. There is a lot of fear when talking about crypto and that is why the focus is on the other things, like retention.

Arcade Colony

Similar game to GLS, Arcade Colony should be a 3rd platform (after Splinterlands and GLS) where teams will focus on getting new games that are not Splinterlands related. Why is that important for Splinterlands? It is important because at Town Hall it was mentioned that there will potentially be SPS Airdrops for SPS stakes. Splinterlands plan is to onboard large games in this new ecosystem by the end of this year. If you ask me that is really exciting. If you think that Airdrops for Arcade Conoly will be worth it, buy and stake your SPS ;) - not financial advice.

New game modes

What makes me really happy is the part about new game modes and this is why I think that this was one of the best Splinterland's Town Halls in a long time. This is something that we as a community were asking for and it seems that they just might deliver this:

Cosmetics
This is something that people want for ages and there was no time or resources by the developers/art team. Now as Rebelion is probably going to be pushed by a few months until the market is better there is no excuse for the team to ignore this. A few USD for cosmetics/skin for your favorite card is what we all want. If those skins will give us some additional benefits like +2% in our Reward Shares and Reward SPS that would be even better.

Arena Run and Battle Pass

Many members of the community are comparing Splinterlands with one of the best TCG games out there - Hearthstone. That game is an inspiration to the community for ideas on how to make Splinterlands better. I am really excited that Splinterlands devs are openly talking about implementing Hearthstone ideas like Arena Runs and Battle Pass system. I am really excited about this one and can't wait for more updates.

New Player Tutorials

This is something that is much needed in the game. I remember the first time when I was trying to figure out how to battle, how to set up a team, what is a summoner, what is a monster, and so on. A detailed tutorial would certainly help new players and even some existing ones to better understand the game.
