Getting Vouchers in the US
I hope there is an easier way.
I am in the US. I still used Binance just the US version. Did everything i needed to be able to buy the Binance (BNB) crypto. This step was pretty easy. The only thing with this is you can not transfer anything out of Binance for 5 days which ended up being 2 weeks for me not sure why but it would not let me transfer on the weekend. I bought it on friday i was thing next friday i could transfer that was not the case i had to wait till the 2nd friday after purchasing the BNB.
I transferred this to GATE.io, which was easy enough. When I got the BNB I switched that to USDT currency. Still easy enough. If you just click on my balance under the words sell it will put the full amount into the box. I just left the sell price as what was in the box a little while later the transaction was complete and I had USDT. Then took the USDT and switched that to HIVE. Gate is not the easiest thing to use FYI.
Once I had the HIVE in gate I needed to get that to the hive engine. I had to download gate on my phone to make the transfer I could not get it to transfer from my computer keep saying I had an error with Google Authentication number. Once I got it on my phone went right away to the HIVE keychain. You have to deposit that from your Keychain to the HIVE engine. That process will give you the swap.hive that is needed to buy things on the hive engine. The hive engine was really easy to use unlike Gate.io. Once you find the vouchers they are cheaper than what they show there. The hive engine showed like $2.50 per voucher I got mine for $1.60 each.
Then to get them back to the Splinterlands game you have to the game to the shop where you see the Chaos Legion info (like pic below). then go down to you see your vouchers hit the send button you will want to click on the hive engine and add how many you want and hit transfer in. Refresh the page and they will be there. Then you can buy packs.
YES THIS PROCESS WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MADE ME THINK TWICE ABOUT THE GAME. I will be looking for a easier way to get it but that is what i had to go through to get the vouchers/Packs.
A few things to help out with Hive-Engine transactions:
The price listed on the VOUCHER page of Hive-Engine is in HIVE, so a purchase price of 1.645 for one VOUCHER is actually about $2.50 because HIVE has been trading around $1.50 each (1.645*1.5 = $2.4675)
A much simpler (and cheaper) way to get your money to Hive-Engine is to purchase a top-tier coin like Bitcoin (in Coinbase is where I do it) and then use SimpleSwap.io to send it to your Hive wallet.
Move it to Hive-Engine (or Leodex.io if you want to save some fees).
Thanks. New to the game and every time I try to google it the only thing that comes up is people using Binance. Ya it is easy if your not in the US. Peakd And Twitch if you ask me are to hard to navigate to try and find post on the topic. I don't get a lot of time to search through them but I try searching and can not find anything on the topic. I see what you mean with hive pricing I didn't realize I had that much money in there LOL. I was kind of hoping someone would read this and give me an easier way to do this. Much apricated.
Took me quite a while to figure it out too, but once you get going on here it really gets easier. Best advice is do test transactions so you don’t make a hundred or thousand dollar mistake trying a new transfer strategy.
LOL I have spend probably more money testing things because I am afraid I am doing it wrong and losing big dollar transactions.
