Interesting new abilities from Silver to Gold - Life Splinter
As I mentioned in my previous post, Life is my favorite Splinter.
I also mentioned there that I am at the Silver league. My rating is actually good for the Gold league - it's my Power that's limiting me.
I am nearly transitioning to Gold from Silver, and so in this post, I looked at some of the interesting new abilities that become available for Life monsters in the Gold League.
**Shieldbearer gets Shield Ability **
With his Taunt ability, Shieldbearer is very useful, especially when paired with Repair and/or Tank Heal. However, what makes him more useful is getting Shield - which reduces ranged and melee attacks. It would be fun to see the range and melee attackers target Shieldbearer with reduced damage while getting healed and repaired.
**Evangelist gets Inspire Ability **
I mentioned in my previous post that Evangelist has one of the highest Attack-to-Mana ratios in Life - which makes her one of the best attackers in Life at the Silver League. At the Gold League, however, she gets the Inspire ability - which buffs the attack of melee attackers. Therefore, a Life sneak build would be an excellent pairing to this card. I can imagine Silvershield Assassin with Evangelist and Silvershield Knight - that would make Assassin with 4 melee attacks twice each round.
Sacred Unicorn gets Trample Ability 
I also mentioned in my previous post that Sacred Unicorn is one of my favorite tanks in the game. High damage, relatively low mana, with Heal and Pierce, is a great combination. So what makes it more fun? Trample! For me, Trample is one of the best abilities in the game, definitely in my Top 5. I'm having a ton of fun watching a tank trampling the next card in line. I think Trample and Pierce is a perfect combination for a tank (which is why I love Magnor + Qid Yuff, as I said here.)

In the Earth Splinter, the one I'm really looking forward to is Clay Golem gets Stun. I'm kind of in the same boat you are. My rating is around 2000 so qualifies for Gold, but my collection power is only around 83k. Got a ways to go there. I just keep chipping away though. Every time someone pounds me with a card I didn't think was that powerful, I end up buying it. lol
Back to the Earth Splinter.....the Wood Nymph adds Strengthen to Heal which can really come in handy trying to get an extra shot out of your low health back row. It could also be enough to give you tank an extra point of heal if it moves it from 8 to 9 for example. The Mushroom Seer gets Poison, which I've found to really come in handy against people who do what you were talking about...namely double healing their tank. And Unicorn Mustang adds Reflect to their Void which is definitely going to make some people upset when they come at me with plus magic. Stack that with the Prismatic Energy (Neutral) which does the opposite (adds Void to Reflect) and heavy magic opponents are going to be in for a rude awakening when the teams are revealed. lol I can't wait.
Of course I've got to figure out a way to get a level 5 Earth Summoner. Nothing is cheap these days....
Man, Stone Golem (Stone right, not Clay?) with Stun and Shield is pretty tough for the opposing tank.
I admit I haven’t used Earth that much, and whenever I do face it in Gold in previous seasons, the triple healing (Flesh golem + Wood nymph/Khmer Princess/Spirit of the Forest) is super annoying lol.
Yeah, Earth summoners are expensive these days, so I invest in the cheapest one (Wizard of Eastwood) - I only have level 3, though.
