Hi everyone, Welcome to my BATTLE MAGE SECRETS post. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS itself is a replacement for SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE, where if SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE takes 1 monster as its weekly theme while BATTLE MAGE SECRETS takes 1 Ruleset as its theme. And the theme for this week is...

COUNTERSPELL

"All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability."

COUNTERSPELL is one of the rulesets that can give additional abilities to all monsters in the battle arena. The ability is in the form of the MAGIC REFLECT ability. MAGIC REFLECT is an ability that can provide an instant counterattack if the owner of this ability gets attacked by a monster's Magic Attack. The number of counterattacks that can be issued is half (made up) of the number of attacks received by the owner of the MAGIC REFLECT ability.

The attack of the MAGIC REFLECT ability can be strengthened (add 1 attack point) with the help of the AMPLIFY ability. The only requirement to use it is to bring 1 monster that has the AMPLIFY ability to the battle arena. In addition to monsters, there is one Summoner who also has AMPLIFY ability, he is Grandmaster Rathe.

RULESET & FORMATION

In addition to COUNTERSPELL, the Ruleset in this battle is...

ARMORED UP

ARMORED UP is a ruleset that grants an additional 2 ARMOR to all monsters in the battle arena. The way it works is almost similar to the PROTECT ability, but what distinguishes them is that the PROTECT ability will only give an additional 2 ARMOR to all monsters on the same team. Meanwhile, the ARMORED UP Ruleset can provide an additional 2 ARMOR to both teams in the battle arena.

WANDS OUT

WANDS OUT is one of the rulesets that limits the use of only one specific type of attack. And in this WANDS OUT Ruleset, we can only use Magic attack monsters.

To deal with the WANDS OUT Ruleset, we should at least prepare a monster (or summoner) that has one of these abilities (SILENCE , MAGIC REFLECT , VOID , VOID ARMOR , and PHASE ).

The use of monsters that have the POISON ability can be an option if the opponent uses monsters that have the VOID ability (which can reduce the impact of damage due to attacks from Magic monsters)

My Line-Up

CardsAbilityReason
- Give an additional 1 ARMOR to All Allies

- Give additional abilities (VOID ARMOR and AMPLIFY ) to All Allies
The reason I use Grandmaster Rathe is that there is one Ruleset (ARMORED UP) that provides additional ARMOR which, if added with 1 ARMOR and VOID ARMOR ability from Grandmaster Rathe, can withstand at least 1 or 2 attacks from the opponent's Magic monster (if you don't have ARMOR at the beginning).
DODGE + RETURN FIREI decided to use Time Meddler because he is one of the Magic attack monsters that has a large amount of ARMOR. With the addition of ARMOR and VOID ARMOR ability from Grandmaster Rathe, at least he can withstand the attacks from the opponent's Magic monsters using his ARMOR.
FLYING + REPAIR + RESURRECT + IMMUNITYAdelade Brightwinng will be in charge of helping to repair some of Time Meddler's ARMOR (which will be attacked by the opponent's Magic monster) by using the REPAIR ability.

And if Time Meddler loses, Adelade Brightwing can still revive it once again using the RESURRECT ability. Although Time Meddler will only have 1 Health point, his ARMOR is still complete.
SLOW + RUSTIf the ARMORED UP Ruleset grants an additional 2 ARMOR to all monsters in the battle arena. Then I need Time Mage to remove the additional 2 ARMOR from the enemy using the RUST ability so that they can't enjoy that advantage.

In addition, Time Mage also has the SLOW ability to slow down the opponent's turn so that my monsters can attack first.
RECHARGEI decided to use Temporal Master because he has the RECHARGE ability. Although monsters with the RECHARGE ability can only attack every 2 rounds, the resulting attack can be 3 times the amount of ATTACK POWER they have. Therefore, I utilize this ability to defeat opposing monsters that have high Health points to lose faster.

BATTLE START !!!

Both sides used the same Summoner and 2 monsters. What was different was that the opponent was using Djinn Renova which had high ATTACK POWER and gave an additional 1 Health to all of the opponent's monsters. I chose to use Temporal Master and Time Mage, and that gave me the edge in speed and the amount of ARMOR I had.

image.png

In the first round, my opponent's Time Meddler lost all of its ARMOR due to attacks from my Time Meddler and Time Mage* as well as the effects of MAGIC REFLECT when it attacked my Time Meddler. The opponent's Time Meddler also took a direct hit from my Adelade Brightwing which reduced his Health points before his ARMOR was repaired by Adelade Brightwing.

Meanwhile, my Time Meddler which was 2 ARMORs ahead got attacked by Djinn Renova and Time Meddler* as well as the effect of MAGIC REFLECT when attacking the opponent's Time Meddler. His ARMOR was repaired but my Time Meddler was attacked by my opponent's Adelade Brightwing.

image.png

In the second round, the opponent's Time Meddler was defeated thanks to attacks from Time Mage and Time Meddler* as well as a big attack from Temporal Master. Despite being revived, the opponent's Time Meddler received an attack from Adelade Brightwing.

Meanwhile, my Time Meddler lost its ARMOR due to the effect of MAGIC REFLECT when attacking my opponent's Time Meddler. That was utilized by Djinn Renova and Adelade Brightwing to attack and reduce his Health points before finally some ARMOR was successfully repaired by my Adelade Brightwing.

In the third round, Time Mage and Time Meddler* managed to destroy the ARMOR of the opponent's Time Meddler. However, my Time Meddler who also lost ARMOR due to the effect of MAGIC REFLECT was defeated by Djinn Renova (Although later revived by Adelade Brightwing).

Meanwhile, my opponent's Time Meddler lost due to the effect of MAGIC REFLECT when he attacked my Time Meddler.

image.png

In the fourth round, the opponent's Adelade Brightwing was defeated by attacks from Time Mage, Time Meddler, and Temporal Master* (Although Time Mage also lost due to the effect of MAGIC REFLECT).

Review of this battle

The victory this time was due to my luck in choosing the right monsters. My decision to diversify the attack power into several parts and the use of monsters that could be decisive, allowed me to successfully win this battle.

All of this can't be separated from the last 2 monsters I chose, namely Time Mage and Temporal Master. Time Mage with the RUST and SLOW abilities is very helpful in all aspects, especially Temporal Master's attack on the opponent's Time Meddler. If there is no ARMOR reduction using the RUST ability by Time Mage, there is a possibility that Temporal Master's attack fails to defeat the opponent's Time Meddler.
