Hi everyone, Welcome to my BATTLE MAGE SECRETS post. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS itself is a replacement for SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE, where if SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE takes 1 monster as its weekly theme while BATTLE MAGE SECRETS takes 1 Ruleset as its theme. And the theme for this week is...

WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU

"All Monsters have the Enrage ability."

WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU is one of the rulesets that will give additional abilities to all monsters in the battle arena. In WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU, the additional ability is ENRAGE. ENRAGE is an ability that will activate and give an additional 50% to Attack Power and SPEED when not in Full Health. But not all monsters will get an increase in ATTACK POWER from ENRAGE, the increase in ATTACK POWER is only focused on Melee monsters. If there is a Dual-attack Type monster whose one Attack Type is Melee, then when the effect of the ENRAGE ability starts to activate, only its Melee Attack will get an increase, while its other Attack types do not change at all.

RULESET & FORMATION

In addition to WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU, the ruleset for this battle is...

TIS BUT SCRATCHES

TIS BUT SCRATCHES is a ruleset that gives additional abilities in the form of CRIPPLE to all monsters in the battle arena. This ability will reduce the Max. Health of the target by 1 point if it successfully hits it. This ability is quite troublesome for monsters with high HEALTH points and often relies on healing abilities (HEAL, TANK HEAL, TRIAGE), and CRIPPLE is permanent (cannot be removed using the CLEANSE Ability).

Monsters with 1 ATTACK POINT can still deal 1 point of damage to monsters that have abilities like SHIELD or VOID.

The way to overcome this Ruleset is of course by defeating the opponent's monsters as quickly as possible. Because the fewer opposing monsters that attack, the maximum health of our monsters will not decrease much.

WANDS OUT

The WANDS OUT ruleset has actually been discussed last week (>>>>>HERE<<<<<<). I also gave some examples of Summoners that fit in the WANDS OUT ruleset. There are very few Summoners that will give additional ATTACK POWER to magic monsters (Alric Stormbringer, Delwyn Dragonscale, and Obsidian).

Therefore, it is better to use magic monsters that have abilities that can "reduce the attack power" of the opponent's magic monsters. Monsters with abilities such as SILENCE, MAGIC REFLECT (combine with AMPLIFY for optimal results), VOID, VOID ARMOR, and PHASE are monsters that must be in formation when in the WANDS OUT ruleset.

My Line-Up

CardsAbilityReason
- Reduce 1 Attack point to All Enemies range monsters

- Reduce 1 SPEED to All Enemies
Quix the Devious is a Summoner specialized in reducing the attack power of Ranged monsters and in this WANDS OUT ruleset one of her de-buffs is meaningless. However, I still used it because the other de-buff (reduce opponent's SPEED by 1 point) was quite useful and I needed some monster magic from DRAGON SPLINTER.
FLYING + VOID + PHASEWhen it comes to magic, my first choice is Void Dragon. Level 3 Void Dragon has several abilities that are specialized to minimize the impact of attacks from magic monsters, especially PHASE. However, PHASE ability still requires several other conditions to make this ability more optimal, such as the difference in SPEED and BLIND ability.

ENRAGE ability received from WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU ruleset will be an alternative to increase SPEED (+50%) when not in Full Health condition.
VOID ARMOR + KNOCKOUT + GIANT KILLER + MAGIC REFLECTDjinn Muirat will become the second TANK if Void Dragon is defeated by the opposing monster. But while Void Dragon is still a TANK, Djinn Muirat's job is to defend against monster attacks with SNIPE abilities that will target magic monsters that are not in the first position.
FLYING + SCATTER SHOT + BLAST + BLINDWhere there is Void Dragon, I definitely need Chaos Dragon. Because Void Dragon's PHASE ability requires BLIND to be optimized (and Chaos Dragon level 3 has that ability)

In addition to the BLIND ability, I use Chaos Dragon because it has a combination of abilities that are very troublesome for all types of monsters (not just magic monsters). That combination is the SCATTER SHOT and BLAST ability.
CRIPPLE + FLYING + STUNI decided to bring Cthulhu because he has a high amount of Mana and there are also a lot of Manacaps available (99). Cthulhu has a lot of ATTACK POWER and HEALTH as well as a STUN ability that can stop the movement of the opponent's monsters in one round (if the effect activates successfully).
RESURRECT + REFLECTION SHIELDI used Oshuur Constantia because she has a RESURRECT ability that can revive one of my defeated monsters, and her REFLECTION SHIELD ability can prevent her from being counterattacked when she attacks a monster with a MAGIC REFLECT ability.
AMPLIFY + GIANT KILLERCabalist will help increase the effect of the MAGIC REFLECT ability owned by Djinn Muirat with the AMPLIFY ability he has. GIANT KILLER ability will be useful when Cabalist attacks the opponent's magic monster that has Mana above 9.

BATTLE START !!!

image.png

The opponent used Astral Entity as a Summoner and relied on Djinn Muirat to fill the first position. The only effect of Astral Entity is to reduce the ARMOR count of Chaos Dragon and Djinn Muirat.

Meanwhile, the effect of Quix the Devious is to reduce 1 SPEED of the opponent's monsters and grant BLIND to all opponent's monsters to reduce attack accuracy.

image.png

In the first round, my monsters managed to defeat Djinn Muirat even though he could be resurrected by Astral Entity. On my side, Void Dragon only received 3 attacks from 6 opposing monsters. 2 attacks came from Cabalist and Venari Bonesmith (who failed to cast POISON) while 1 attack came from MAGIC REFLECT when Void Dragon successfully attacked Djinn Muirat.

In this round, attacks from Chaos Dragon went to Venari Bonesmith and BLAST effects hit Djinn Muirat and Skok Duskblight.

image.png

In the second round, Cabalist lost to MAGIC REFLECT from Djinn Muirat, but was revived by Oshuur Constantia. The opponent's Djinn Muirat was defeated by mine, while Venari Bonesmith was defeated by Cthulhu.

The attack of Chaos Dragon in this round was aimed at Cabalist and the BLAST effect hit Skok Duskblight and defeated Magi Necrosi.

image.png

Skok Duskblight was defeated by Void Dragon while Cabalist was defeated by Chaos Dragon (and the BLAST effect hit Usut). Cabalist attacks Usut and activates the GIANT KILLER ability so that Usut takes double damage. The final attack comes from Djinn Muirat.

Review of this battle

The victory this time is arguably a fairly easy victory especially since Venari Bonesmith failed to give the POISON effect on Void Dragon. The opponent's mistake this time happened because he used Astral Entity. Although the RESURRECT ability plays a role this time, the DODGE ability is not useful at all when facing attacks from Magic monsters. To deal with magic attacks, abilities like Void Dragon's (VOID and PHASE) are needed.

As I said before, although there are no other monsters that can make up the difference in SPEED between Void Dragon and other monsters. With the ENRAGE from the WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU Ruleset, Void Dragon can dodge some attacks from opposing monsters (and this is also thanks to the BLIND from Chaos Dragon).
