Hi everyone, Welcome to my post regarding the "SHARE YOUR BATTLE" Challenge. For this week's challenge, I'll be sharing my battle using DRAGON SPLINTER (in accordance with the theme this time). the discussion this time does not only focus on the monster but the summoner as well. Because if we don't use Summoner from DRAGON SPLINTER, we can't use Dragon monsters.

And the Summoner Dragon I chose is...

Yup, (The One And Only) Quix the Devious. He's the only Summoner I use when I want to use Monsters from DRAGON SPLINTER. *Because I borrowed the deck from NFTYARCADE and I only found Quix the Devious as a Summoner for DRAGON SPLINTER.

Quix the Devious benefits greatly from facing opponents who use General Sloan and focus their attacks on Ranged monsters. Besides being able to cancel the BUFF received from General Sloan, Quix the Devious also provides a 1-point SPEED reduction.

But of the 3 battles I shared this time, I didn't face an opponent who used General Sloan. Wondering what kind of opponent I faced? Let's go to the next part...

1st Battle

image.png

My opponent and I both used Quix the Devious level 2. My opponent's choice of monsters was that he chose to use monsters with fairly high SPEED while I focused more on monsters that had high ARMOR and Health Points (I also chose some monsters with a large number of Attack points).

Why mostly use Melee monsters? Because the Ruleset this time is...

image.png

SUPER SNEAK, BACK TO BASICS, and COUNTERSPELL

Judging from the Ruleset, the most appropriate types of monsters to use are Melee and Ranged monsters. If I use a Summoner that focuses on strengthening Melee Monsters (Tarsa), there is a possibility that my attacks can still miss because the average monster from FIRE SPLINTER has low SPEED. That's why I use Quix the Devious.

My monsters

I placed it in front because almost all of the opponent's monsters will focus on the monster in the last position

I put the monster with the most ARMOR and Health points in the last position to withstand the opponent's attack.

Meanwhile, monsters with less ARMOR and Health Points but with high Attack points are in the center.

Despite using Quix the Devious, the SPEED of my monsters was still inferior to the opponent's (because the opponent used the same Summoner). And I was worried because my monster died first (Djinn Chwala). But after approaching the final round...

*Guess what. Who won?

2nd Battle

image.png

Again, I used the same summoner as the opponent. But this time the opponent was more favored because he had a level 3 Summoner, so he could use monsters with higher levels.

At first glance, I was the one who was going to lose this time. Because my opponent brought 2 SNEAK monsters into the battle arena and my backside was not protected at all. But the reason for my formation choice was because the ruleset this time was...

image.png

UP TO ELEVEN, COUNTERSPELL, and FOG OF WAR

MY MONSTER

Djinn Chwala has THORN which when combined with the AMPLIFY gained from this ruleset can amplify its effects
Only as a filler. can be replaced with other monsters that have 2 Mana (Xenith Archer)
His main task to repair the ARMOR of Djinn Chwala

If we look at the Ruleset, the opponent is now the underdog because the 2 SNEAK monsters he brought were completely useless until they were in first place. And with AMPLIFY, the effect of THORN hurts the opponent's Melee monsters even more...

And you can guess how it turned out...

3rd Battle

image.png

For this time I didn't face an opponent who used the same Summoner. But I faced an opponent who used the same SPLINTER, namely WATER SPLINTER (In addition to me using DRAGON SPLINTER)

WATER SPLINTER itself is populated by some pretty annoying monsters and is almost entirely present in this battle.

MY MONSTER

I brought a lot of Magic monsters so that if I met a monster with ARMOR, the attacks from my monsters could directly hit HP. 2 of them have BLAST so that their attacks don't only hit 1 monster.

In addition to providing additional ARMOR. Arkemis the Bear is tasked with reducing the Attack points of the opponent's TANK and defending against the opponent's monster attack (Because it has high HP)
Since there were 2 monsters that had PROTECT, he was assigned to fix it

And for this Ruleset...

image.png

HEAVY HITTERS

HEAVY HITTERS will be especially dangerous if there is at least 1 STUN monster in the battle arena. But fortunately, the opponent does not have such monsters.

And the decider this time relied on speed and luck alone...

image.png

1 annoying monster fell in the first round thanks to my attacks which were dominated by attacks from Magic monsters.

image.png

And the number 2 annoying monster (Djinn Oshannus, and the most annoying) was also defeated. Although Magic Attack failed to hit it several times, but fortunately the attacks from Melee and Ranged monsters could hit the target. (if not, maybe I would have lost the battle this time.)

STRATEGY (Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?)

You could say that my entire strategy led me to a pretty dramatic victory (except for the 2nd Battle). Because I myself initially immediately pressed the SKIP button because I thought I was going to lose. But when the reality was reversed, I immediately double-checked what actually happened.

It turns out that the cause of the dramatic victory was because some of the attacks launched by my monsters missed or did not hit the opponent (either because of the difference in SPEED or because of an ability). And if only my SPEED was balanced or at least close to the SPEED of the opponent's monsters, then I could win easily.

For the upcoming strategy, maybe I will change the placement of the monsters in the 1st battle. I will put the monster with the highest Health points at the back and the monster with the highest Attac points closer to the first position. For the 2nd Battle, there is no change because the victory this time is purely due to mistakes from the opponent's side. And for the 3rd Battle, I was more confused than not wanting to make changes to the strategy. Because this formation alone won the battle dramatically. So, which monster should be replaced?

Do you like Quix the Devious?

Yes, I quite like it. Although I rarely use it, but at least in DRAGON SPLINTER (Especially CHAOS LEGION EDITION) is inhabited by some monsters that are still my favorites such as Chaos Dragon which in this battle is quite instrumental in defeating many monsters at once.
