Hi everyone, Welcome to my post regarding the "SHARE YOUR BATTLE" Challenge. For this week's challenge, I'll be sharing my battles using some of the Low Mana Magic Monsters from Death Splinter. And before going to the main discussion.........

The ruleset for this time is TAKING SIDES with 17 mana. TAKING SIDES is a situation where Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.

My Line-Up

CardsAbilityReason
Reduce 1 Attack Point to All Enemies Melee monsterI used Camila Sungazer to prevent the opponent's Melee monsters, especially those in the first position from dealing enough damage to my monsters (especially those that will be acting as TANK)
Thorn (Lv1)I'm using Cursed Windecu because it has THORN which can deal damage when the opponent's Melee monster attacks it.
None (Lv1)I used Shadowy Presence as an "attention grabber" for the opponent's SNIPE monsters. SNIPE monsters prefer to attack No Attack / Ranged / Magic type monsters, while this time I brought some Magic monsters that have small Health points.
Flying (Lv1)one of the Low Mana Magic monsters I brought to the battle arena. Fallen Specter has the highest SPEED so he has the opportunity to attack the opponent's monster first in each round (Except in REVERSE SPEED Ruleset)
None (Lv1)The only Magic monster that has a Mana of only 1 point. This is one of the reasons I used Theorosa Nightshade in this battle.
Snipe (Lv1)The main reason I use Death Elemental is to focus attacks on No Attack / Ranged / Magic type monsters.
None (Lv1)I use Carrion Shade only as a "sacrificial pawn". The reason I put Carrion Shade in the last position is so that my Magic monsters don't get hit by SNEAK monsters first.

BATTLE START !!!

My opponent this time used Thaddius Brood as his Summoner and he only brought Melee monsters to the battle arena this time without bringing any Ranged or Magic monsters.

After all abilities are applied.....

image.png

Thaddius Brood's ability grants 1 Attack point reduction to all my magic monsters (which has no effect because the Attack points of some of my magic monsters are only 1 point to begin with) and 1 Health point reduction to all my monsters. There are no additional abilities granted by your opponent's monsters.

Camila Sungazer's ability grants 1 Attack point reduction to all of her opponent's Melee monsters. There are no additional abilities granted by my monsters.

In the first round, all of my magic monsters (Fallen Specter, Death Elemental, and Theorosa Nightshade) attacked my opponent's Cursed Windecu so that its Health points were reduced by 3 points. And followed by my Cursed Windecu attacking my opponent's Cursed Windecu so that now its Health points only remain 4. (But as a result of making the attack, my Cursed Windecu was hit by THORN, reducing its Health points by 2 points)

When it was my opponent's turn to attack, my opponent's Cursed Windecu attacked mine and only lost 1 Health point (And my opponent's Cursed Windecu was hit by THORN so now it has 2 Health points left). The last attack from the opponent in this first round came from Silent Sha-vi who managed to defeat my Carrion Shade which had 1 Health point left shortly after Summoner's Abilities was activated.

In the second round, my opponent's Cursed Windecu was defeated by my 2 Magic monsters (Fallen Specter and Death Elemental*) before he could attack. But Silent Sha-vi responded by defeating Death Elemental.

My Cursed Windecu attacked and defeated the Cursed Slimeball. The opponent's Carrion Shade who took the place of Cursed Slimeball was hit by an attack from Theorosa Nightshade, and he also lost because he was hit by THORN after attacking my Cursed Windecu.

In the final round, Silent Sha-vi was defeated by THORN. After getting attacked by Fallen Specter and Cursed Windecu, he tried to counter my Cursed Windecu.

STRATEGY (Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?)

My strategy this time was not right at all, the opponent did not bring Ranged or Magic monsters that have SNIPE abilities so the selection and placement of Shadowy Presence and Death Elemental* felt futile even though I managed to win this match.

For the next strategy, maybe I will swap the position of Carrion Shade with Shadowy Presence.

Do you like Those low Mana Magic Monsters?

Yes, I like them. The Low Mana monster that I tried first was Fallen Specter. I've used the level 2 version, where it has DEMORALIZE ability which is very useful against Melee monsters in battles that only provide a small amount of Mana. As for Theorosa Nightshade, she is the only magic monster that has only 1 point of Mana. And it becomes an alternative choice for Death Splinter when he wants to choose a monster when there is only 1 Mana left.

That is one of the positive sides, while the negative side of them is that they easily become targets for OPPORTUNITY monsters because of their small number of Health points. To prevent this, you have to place other monsters that also have 1 point of Health in front of them so they don't fall first. Or another way is to use a monster that has the TAUNT Ability.
