SHARE YOUR BATTLE ! WEEKLY CHALLENGE || MAGI NECROSI
The ruleset for this time is STANDARD with 38 mana. In this Ruleset, we (my side and the opposing side) have no advantage or restrictions in choosing which monster to use (only limited by the amount of Mana and Elements available), so the determinant of victory depends entirely on the strategy we use.
Although actually WATER SPLINTER is more favored (judging from my experience in playing this game), this time I tried using DEATH SPLINTER with all the risks.
MAGI NECROSI
Magi Necrosi is an Epic card from the CHAOS LEGION edition that is of the magic type. She has caught my attention since her appearance. I think of her as an upgraded Death Elemental, because it has the similarity of a Magic monster from Death Splinter that has SNIPE and also has SPEED totaling 4 points.
Also, Magi Necrosi already has CAMOUFLAGE at level 1, so it's good to put her in the last position (as long as she's not hit by MAGIC REFLECT / BLAST / NOXIOUS FUMES (RULESET), she'll be safe).
Other Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
Reduce 1 Attack Point to All Enemies Magic monster Reduce 1 Health point to All Enemies | To be able to use Magi Necrosi, of course I have to use DEATH SUMMONER (although DRAGON SUMMONER and Lux Vega can also be used) to reduce the attacks of magic monsters from WATER SPLINTER such as Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn. | |
Shield (Lv1) + Immunity (Lv2) | I need monsters that have SHIELD so that they can withstand attacks from Melee and Ranged monsters and that have a lot of Health Points so that they can "buy a little time" when they are hit by magic monsters. | |
Flying + Weaken (Lv1) | Will-o-Wisp has a lot of Health points so it can be the second TANKER if Harklaw loses. FLYING helps him have a chance to dodge attacks from Melee and Ranged monsters. And WEAKEN helps speed up defeating opposing monsters. | |
Sneak (Lv1) | Just in case a "troublesome" monster is placed at the very end. | |
Repair (Lv1) | To restore some of the lost ARMOR so that my monsters can last longer | |
Shield (Lv1) | To attract Melee/Ranged monsters that have SNEAK and OPPORTUNITY abilities | |
Snipe + Camouflage (Lv1) | to target Ranged/Magic/No Attack monsters that are not in the first position. |
BATTLE START !!!
My opponent this time used WATER SPLINTER and made Kelya Frendul as the Summoner. She did bring Magic monsters but I didn't find Djinn Oshannus, and instead, she chose Baakjira.
All my monsters only got 1 SPEED reduction, and that was from Baakjira. As for the opponent, they get 1 ARMOR, 1 Melee Attack point, and 1 additional SPEED. But they got 1 Health point reduction (2 Health point reductions from me, 1 additional Health point from Baakjira).
In the first round, the opponent immediately lost one of the monsters that played an important role. He has RESURRECT which is able to revive other monsters with 1 HP (But unfortunately he had to die first).
Dumacke Orc was fortunate enough to survive the opponent's 2 Melee monsters (Pelacor Bandit and Deeplurker) by relying solely on REPAIR from Scavo Hireling.
In the third round, the opponent's Scavo Hireling had to lose because it was "too busy" repairing Baakjira's ARMOR that was lost due to an attack from Harklaw.
In the fourth round, Magi Necrosi defeated Nerissa Tridawn first before she defeated Harklaw.

STRATEGY (Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?)
You could say that I was quite lucky this time. The death of River Hellondale first and the absence of Melee/Ranged monsters attacking Harklaw, made Scavo Hireling focus REPAIR only on Dumacke Orc. The wrong monster placement and selection was the cause of my victory (Maybe because my opponent this time was a bot(?))
The things I'd like to change next time probably aren't there. But if allowed (for this time only) I would like to change my opponent's position selection and monsters that could make me lose. And this is the result...
1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | 6th |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Perhaps with this, Magi Necrosi will have a hard time defeating Djinn Oshannus, and Scavo Hireling's attention is focused on improving the ARMOR of Harklaw rather than Dumacke Orc.
Do you like Magi Necrosi?
As I said at the beginning, Magi Necrosi is an upgraded version of Death Elemental. What this means is that I really like Magic Monsters that have SNIPE, because they can trick the opponent by attacking monsters that are not in the first position (Ranged/Magic/no Attack), and as long as it's not Djinn Oshannus or Void Dragon that Magi Necrosi should attack.
But unfortunately, I rarely use DEATH SPLINTER so I don't know what formations are suitable for using Magi Necrosi. DEATH SPLINTER requires monsters that have the PROTECT ability....
Like him. As of writing this post, I still haven't gotten it from Daily Quest Rewards. Maybe DEATH SPLINTER will look even more attractive in my eyes if I get it later.......
