Social Media Challenge : REBELLION || Silence ability on REBELLION

avatar

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share some of my battles using monsters from REBELLION that have the SILENCE ability. The monsters are Endura Brune and Daigendark Hunter.

Silence ability on REBELLION

SILENCE is an ability that is useful for giving a reduction in ATTACK POWER to all magic monsters from the opposing party by 1 point. This ability is very useful when facing opponents who often use or rely on Magic monsters. As is known, the attack from Magic monsters can directly hit HEALTH points regardless of how much ARMOR the Target has (unless the Target has or receives the VOID ARMOR ability, then the attack from Magic monsters will hit ARMOR first).
SILENCE ability can be combined with VOID ability so that damage can be minimized. Because VOID is an ability that can reduce the damage received due to attacks from the opponent's magic monster by half of the original damage.

In the REBELLION edition, we get 4 new monsters that get the SILENCE ability. They are...

Endura Brune is a LEGENDARY monster from WATER Splinter. Lurking Puffer is a COMMON monster from EARTH Splinter, Daigendark Hunter is a RARE monster from DEATH Splinter, and Nalara Geinek is a LEGENDARY monster from NEUTRAL Splinter (which can be used in all elements).

This time I will share the battle using 2 of the above monsters when facing opponents who rely on Magic monsters

ENDURA BRUNE

Endura Brune is a Ranged monster that has 9 points of Mana. It only has the SILENCE ability when it is level 2. I was lucky because I got a cheap rental price for this card, so I could try using its ability. Below is one example of a battle I won when using Endura Brune.

The ruleset for this battle is KEEP YOUR DISTANCE (Only Melee monsters cannot be used in this ruleset) and UNPROTECTED (All ARMOR is removed and PROTECT abilities are useless in this ruleset).

Both sides are using Quix the Devious which reduces 1 attack power of Ranged monsters. The additional debuff on the opponent's side comes from Riftwing in the form of HEADWINDS ability which is the same as Quiz the Devious (but without reducing 1 SPEED). While on my side comes from Baakjira which reduces 1 SPEED of the opponent's monsters (SLOW ability) and from Endura Brune.

In the first round, Venari Marksrat was defeated twice. The first defeat was due to an attack from Will-o-Wisp while the second was due to an attack from Doctor Blight. But thanks to that, Void Dragon received an additional 2 points of STATS and made several attacks from the opponent's monsters fail to hit him (except for the attack from Berix Snakeye which always hits Void Dragon because he has TRUE STRIKE ability).

image.png

In the second round, the attacks from the opponent's monsters (except Beric Snakeye) still failed to hit Void Dragon. Meanwhile, the only attack from my side that failed came from Endura Brune which failed to hit Wll-o-Wisp because it has the FLYING ability.

image.png

In the third round, Void Dragon managed to defeat Will-o-Wisp but he had to be hit by POISON from Doctor Blight's attack which this time managed to hit him (although it did not reduce Health points). Skok Duskblight who took the place of Will-o-Wisp was hit by attacks from Endura Brune and Oshuur Constantia.

image.png

In the fourth round, Skok Duskblight was defeated by Void Dragon, and his position was replaced by Riftwing. Berix Snakeye lost due to a BLAST from my Chaos Dragon's attack directed at my opponent's Chaos Dragon.

In the fifth round, my Chaos Dragon defeated Doctor Blight as well as my opponent's Chaos Dragon which was also defeated due to the BLAST effect of the attack.

In the final round, Void Dragon lost to POISON, while Riftwing was defeated by Chaos Dragon.

DAIGENDARK HUNTER

Daigendark Hunter is a Ranged monster that has a Mana of 6 Points. He only gets the SILENCE ability when he is level 4. Below is one example of a battle I won when using Daigendark Hunter.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is EVEN STEVENS (Only monsters with even Mabna can be used in this ruleset), FEROCITY (All monsters get the FURY ability), and EQUALIZER (All monsters in the battle arena have the same Health point prefix as the monster with the most Health points).

I decided to use Astral Entity to permanently remove 2 ARMOR from the opponent's monsters as well as resurrect one of the defeated monsters 1 time. And for de-buffing, I left it to Riftwing which reduces 1 attack power of the opposing monster's ranged, as well as Daigendark Hunter which grants 1 attack power reduction to the opposing monster's Magic.

On my opponent's side, he uses Thaddius Brood which reduces 1 Attack power to my magic monsters and reduces 1 Health point to all my monsters. He also buffs his Melee monsters by using INSPIRE ability which comes from Raven Wardenhood. (Raven Wardenhood also provides an additional 2 ARMOR, but it is thwarted by the ability of Astral Entity).

In the first round, TANKs from both sides (Cursed Windeku and Wily Coyotian) were both hit by POISON from Venari Bonesmith which was also owned by both sides.

The attack from my Shadow Snitch successfully hit Cursed Windeku and gave him AFFLICTION so that Cursed Windeku could not use his healing ability (HEAL ). Meanwhile, my opponent's Shadow Snitch (and also Doctor Blight*) failed to land their attacks on Wily Coyotian.

image.png

In the second round, my Cursed Wind was defeated by my Shadow Snitch. Meanwhile, the attack from Doctor Blight still failed to hit Wily Coyotian who managed to revive after previously being defeated by my opponent's Shadow Snitch.

image.png

In Round 3, Wily Coyotian was defeated by Venari Bonesmith and my Shadow Snitch lost to attacks from Shadow Snitch, Raven Wardenhood, and Doctor Blight*.

image.png

In the fourth round, Shadow Snitch failed to land an attack on my Corpse Fiend. Meanwhile, my opponent's Corpse Fiend was finally defeated by Daigendark Hunter.

The battle lasted quite a long time because the attack power of each monster was very small while their Health points were quite a lot. But in the ninth round, Daigendark Hunter managed to defeat Venari Bonesmith.

Battle Review

The two monsters I just tried Endura Brune and Daigendark Hunter have their uniqueness. But of the two, the one with the biggest impact was Daigendark Hunter who defeated the monsters in the last position by himself one after another. After defeating Corpse Fiend, Daigendark hunter managed to hold back the Health gain rate of the opponent's Venari Bonesmith so that he was defeated faster.
