Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share my experience when using Djinn Oshannus which managed to survive without taking much damage.

DJINN OSHANNUS

Djinn Oshannus is one of the Reward Cards from the first generation CHAOS LEGION edition. It is a Legendary Magic monster from WATER SPLINTER. At the first level, Djinn Oshannus is equipped with VOID ability which can reduce the impact of damage from attacks from the opponent's Magic monster. While at the second level, he gets the PHASE ability which allows him to avoid attacks from Magic monsters with certain conditions.

Only 2 abilities received at levels 1 and 2 make Djinn Oshannus quite troublesome when relying solely on magic monsters when facing it in a battle.

At level 3, Djinn Oshannus receives an additional ability in the form of FORCEFIELD . This ability can prevent Djinn Oshannus from taking a lot of damage because the FORCEFIELD ability will turn attacks from monsters that have ATTACK POWER of 5 points and the rest into only 1 point of damage when hitting monsters that have this ability. At the last level (4), Djinn Oshannus no longer gets additional abilities, but 1 point to his ATTACK POWER and Health.

And this time I will share some of my battles using Djinn Oshannus where I (coincidentally) managed to implement the use of his second and third abilities (PHASE and FORCFIELD ).

1st Battle

image.png

The ruleset for this battle is NOXIOUS FUMES (All monsters in the arena are poisoned from the start of battle), WHAT DOESN'T KIL YOU (all monsters in this battle get an additional ability in the form of ENRAGE ), and FEROCITY (all monsters in this battle get an additional ability in the form of FURY )

In this battle, I only relied on the CLEANSE ability of River Nymph to clean the poison from Djinn Oshannus that they got from the NOXIOUS FUMES Ruleset. While on the opponent's side, he brought 2 monsters that have the IMMUNITY ability (immune to any debuff)

image.png

In the first round, Djinn Oshannus and River Nymph attacked Harklaw and made him enter RAGE MODE so that the ATTACK POWER and SPEED of Harklaw increased by 1.5 times.

Meanwhile, on the opponent's side, Harklaw and Revealer* successfully attacked Djinn Oshannus and made him enter RAGE MODE. Unlike Harklaw which is a Melee monster, Ranged and Magic monsters (in this battle Djinn Oshannus) will only get a 1.5 times SPEED increase if they are in RAGE MODE.

image.png

At the start of the second round, the opponent lost Corpse Fiend and Chaos Agent due to poison effects. Meanwhile, I only lost Torrent Fiend. Djinn Oshannus and River Nymph attacked Harklaw again and reduced his Health points.

On the opponent's side, the attack from Harklaw failed to hit Djinn Oshannus. Meanwhile, the attack of Revealer besides successfully hitting Djinn Oshannus also succeeded in giving a STUN effect so that Djinn Oshannus could not attack in the next round.

image.png

At the start of the third round, I lost River Nymph and Chaos Agent due to the poison effect they got from the NOXIOUS FUMES Ruleset.

In this round, Djinn Oshannus could not attack because there was still a STUN effect from the attack from Revealer in the previous round. Harklaw again failed to land his attack on Djinn Oshannus. Only Revealer's attack managed to hit Djinn Oshannus although this time without giving a STUN effect so that in the next round Djinn Oshannus could already attack.

image.png

The battle lasted quite a long time because most attacks from Harklaw failed to hit Djinn Oshannus and Revealer sometimes managed to make Djinn Oshannus unable to attack due to the STUN effect. There are also times when attacks from Revealer fail to hit Djinn Oshannus.

Harklaw only managed to land his attack on Djinn Oshannus once and even then only dealt 1 point of damage even with high ATTACK POWER. That's because Djinn Oshannus has the FORCEFIELD ability which makes attacks with high ATTACK POWER "converted " to only 1 point of damage.

Djinn Oshannus also only managed to defeat Harklaw when it was in the 10th round with 3 Health points remaining.

image.png

The attacks of Revealer could only hit Djinn Oshannus twice out of 6 rounds and Djinn Oshannus could only defeat Revealer in the 16th round after being hit by the STUN effect in the 14th round, making him unable to attack in the 15th round.

2nd Battle

image.png

The ruleset for this battle is KEEP YOUR DISTANCE (Melee monsters cannot be used in this ruleset), TAKING SIDES (Neutral monsters cannot be used in this Ruleset), and FAB-FOUR (The number of monsters that can be carried is no more than 4 units)

In this battle, I relied on Wave Brood to distract the opponent's monsters so that their attacks were aimed at him. But it turns out that the opponent uses Conqueror Jacek who has the SCATTER SHOT ability so that the attacks of the opponent's monsters that are not in the first position choose their targets randomly in each round.

image.png

In the first round, Lava Spider attacked River Nymph while Lava Launcher and Tinderlock targeted Wave Brood. All of my monsters (Djinn Oshannus, River Nymph, Swamp Spitter, and Wave Brood) attacked Venari Heatsmith.

image.png

In the second round, Djinn Oshannus defeated Venari Heatsmith. River Nymph and Swamp Spitter successfully attacked Lava Spider. But the attack from Wave Brood failed to hit Lava Spider.

Lava Launcher again directed its attack at Wave Brood. Meanwhile, Tinderlock this time directed its attack at River Nymph and managed to defeat it.

image.png

In the third round, Djinn Oshannus defeated Lava Spider. Lava Launcher who was now in first place attacked Djinn Oshannus with high attack power. However, Djinn Oshannus only took 1 ARMOR damage because of the FORCFIELD ability.

Tinderlock managed to defeat Wave Brood. Meanwhile, Swamp Spitter managed to attack Lava Launcher.

image.png

In the fourth round, Djinn Oshannus defeated Lava Launcher. Tinderlock who was the last monster on the opposing side activated the LAST STAND ability which gives him a 1.5 times boost to all his stats when there are only monsters with this ability left on either side. This attacks Swamp Spitter fail to hit Tinderlock.

image.png

Tinderlock who was in LAST STAND Mode tried to attack Djinn Oshannus with full power. But because of the FORCEFIELD ability, Djinn Oshannus only took 1 ARMOR damage (and was repaired again by Swamp Spitter with the REPAIR ability).

Djinn Oshannus and Swamp Spitter successfully attacked Tinderlock. Swamp Spitter deals double damage as a result of the GIANT KILLER ability. The ability deals double damage when successfully attacking monsters with Mana points more than 9 (10, 11, 12, and so on). And this time Tinderlock which is a monster with 10 Mana points was hit by the attack of Swamp Spitter so that he received double damage.

image.png

Tinderlock was only defeated in the sixth round due to an attack from Djinn Oshannus.

Battle Review

1st Battle

The additional SPEED from Kelya Frendul and River Nymph and the ENRAGE ability obtained from the WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU Ruleset make the SPEED difference between ***Djinn Oshannus and the opponent's monsters very large. This makes Melee Attacks from Harklaw rarely hit him. Attacks from Revealer also sometimes fail to hit him, it is also due to the PHASE ability which increases the possibility of avoiding Magic monster attacks.

2nd Battle

Although some of my monsters were defeated by the big attacks from the opponent's monsters, Djinn Oshannus managed to prevent me from losing. That's because the monsters attacking Djinn Oshannus have ATTACK POWER of 5 and 6 Points (Lava Launcher and Tinderlock) while Djinn Oshannus has the FORCEFIELD ability that can turn their attacks into only 1 point of damage.
