Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I'm back to talk about some new Reward Cards and my battles in the STANDARD Ruleset.

New Reward Cards (And Abilities) Part II

In this second part, I will discuss some of the cards that have appeared. I will discuss the abilities they have and some of the possibilities that occur when using these cards in a battle.

Halaran Huntress (shared by @splinterlands)

The Halaran Huntress is one of the Common reward cards for Earth elements. She has 4 Mana points so she can be played in the LITTLE LEAGUE Ruleset.

The first ability she has is FLYING . The FLYING ability will give her a chance to dodge the attacks of opposing monsters (Melee or Ranged) that don't have the same ability as her. In her second ability, Halaran Huntress has the CHARGE ability. The CHARGE ability allows her to attack in any position (in general, Melee monsters can only attack in the first position) without worrying about being hit by the opponent's monsters.

For her third ability, Halaran Huntress has SNARE . SNARE is an ability that gives users the ability to always be able to attack monsters with the FLYING ability without missing. In addition, the SNARE ability will also provide a SNARE effect that can eliminate the effect of FLYING .

In a way, Halaran Huntress will be an enemy for users who often use monsters that have FLYING abilities (especially me). With SNARE ability, she can eliminate the target's FLYING ability so that the target is vulnerable to damage from the EARTHQUAKE ruleset. And with the CHARGE ability, she can easily attack in any position even in the FOG OF WAR ruleset.

Thanalorian Blade (shared by @kontora)

Thanalorian Blade is an Epic reward card for Element Earth. It has 6 Mana points and 4 abilities, one of which is the newest ability.

The first ability she has is OPPORTUNITY . OPPORTUNITY is an ability that will attack first the target that has the lowest Health points. Meanwhile, in the second ability, Thanalorian Blade has EXECUTE . EXECUTE is an ability that will deal additional damage if the first attack succeeds in making the target's Health point remaining 2 points or below. EXECUTE ability will be scary for monsters that have Health Points that are only 2 points more than the Attack power of Thanalorian Blade and do not have the SHIELD ability to reduce attacks from Thanalorian Blade which is a Melee monster.

In the third ability, Thanalorian Blade has LOOKOUT . LOOKOUT is an ability that makes nearby monsters take 1 point less damage than normal when hit by attacks from monsters that have abilities such as SNIPE , OPPORTUNITY , and SNEAK . And in its last ability, Thanalorian Blade has TRAMPLE . TRAMPLE ability allows the user to attack monsters that are next to the target she defeated. When combined with the EXECUTE ability, the Thanalorian Blade can be a deadly unit if the player is carrying a monster with not enough Health points.

The Thanalorian Blade can be an annoying opponent if you don't know how to stop it. But fortunately, she is not equipped with PIERCING ability that can penetrate ARMOR. Therefore, to deal with it, you need a monster that has the PROTECT ability if you decide to bring a monster that has low Health points to avoid being hit by the combination of EXECUTE and TRAMPLE abilities of Thanalorian Blade.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is STANDARD (There are no changes or restrictions of any kind in this ruleset)

In the first round, my Pelacor Bandit attacked Uraeus. My Angelic Mandarin, Tide Biter, River Nymph, and Igor Darkspear attacked Diemonshark.

The opponent's Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit tried to attack my Pelacor Bandit but Uraeus's attack failed to hit him. Diemonshark and Tide Biter attacked Baakjira. Meanwhile, Doctor Blight although his attack does not deal any damage, has a poison effect on Baakjira.

In the second round, my Pelacor Bandit defeated Uraeus. Meanwhile, my opponent's Pelacor Bandit attacked mine. Although Diemonshark did some damage to Baakjira along with Tide Biter, it was defeated by attacks from Angelic Mandarin, Tide Biter, River Nymph, and Igor Darkspear.

Baakjira was able to heal herself and clear the poison with the help of River Nymph, but she again received the effects of the poison and AFFLICTION from Doctor Blight's attack that did not hurt her.

In the third round, my Pelacor Bandit successfully attacked my opponent's Pelacor Bandit. But when the opponent's Pelacor Bandit tried to attack, it failed to hit mine. My opponent's Tide Biter was defeated by attacks from Angelic Mandarin, Tide Biter, River Nymph, and Igor Darkspear.

Baakjira again received negative effects from Doctor Blight even though it had previously been cleared by River Nymph.

Battle Review

With the large number of monsters attacking, it was likely that victory was indeed on my side. Despite having monsters with high Attack power, the opponent did not equip them with supporting monsters that have abilities such as TANK HEAL or REPAIR .

Although he uses Doctor Blight which is designed to deal with monsters with high Health points and has healing. But unfortunately, I had anticipated it by bringing River Nymph which has CLEANSE ability.

By carrying River Nymph and Baakjira, I also had a slight advantage so some of my opponent's attacks failed to hit my monsters.
