Social Media Challenge || WELCOME TO DIAMOND LEAGUE | ALMOST DEFEATED

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I'll talk about how I feel about returning to the DIAMOND League, and I'll share a battle that I almost lost if my monster attacks weren't aimed at the right targets.

WELCOME TO DIAMOND LEAGUE

I'm finally back in the DIAMOND league after several seasons in the GOLD I. And even more special, I managed to be in the DIAMOND League less than a week before the end of the season. If in the previous experiment, I could only reach the DIAMOND League 1 - 2 days before the end of the season I could not try how the sensation of fighting in the DIAMOND League. So this time I still had time to experience the battles in the DIAMOND League.

*Then How did it go? *

The results turned out to be the same as when I fought in the GOLD League. Perhaps it was because of the new system that allowed players to use max-level cards (even since I was in the BRONZE League) that I encountered opponents who had max-level cards (even with a more complete number of cards) several times. The slight difference is that if in the GOLD League, I can still encounter opponents who use cards with low levels or the maximum level for the GOLD League in the previous system (Common = 8; Rare = 6; Epic = 5; Legendary = 3), then in the DIAMOND League I more often encounter opponents with maximum level cards.

So in essence, battles in the DIAMOND League require more skill, an understanding of the cards you have, as well as the Ruleset and Manacap available. Maybe I will encounter more moments where players with a limited number of cards can win against opponents who rely on fairly Overpowered cards.

And below I will share a moment where I was almost defeated in a battle in the GOLD League (not DIAMOND League).

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is BORN AGAIN (all monsters in this battle get an additional ability in the form of REBIRTH ), and TIS BUT SCRATCHES (all monsters in this battle get an additional ability in the form of CRIPPLE )

In this battle, I relied on Conqueror Jacek as a summoner because I needed an additional 2 SPEED so that my monsters could get their turn to attack first. I also added 2 more monsters that can increase SPEED (SWIFTNESS ), namely Supply Runner and Countess Sinash* so that now all my monsters receive an additional 4 SPEED.

Meanwhile, the opponent uses Possibilus the Wise as a summoner and focuses the attack on the monster in the first position. He also brought 1 monster with the TAUNT ability hoping that some of the attacks from my monsters would lead to that monster, but unfortunately Conqueror Jacek also gave the additional SCATTER SHOT ability to all my monsters so that the attacks from some of my Ranged monsters chose their targets randomly each round.

In the first round, Exploding Rats, Countess Sinash, and Lava Launcher attacked Diemonshark and the additional damage through BLAST ability hit Coastal Sentry. Diemonshark also gets STUN to make it unable to move for one round. Meanwhile, Supply Runner aimed its attack at Swamp Spitter.

Before being hit by STUN, Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry tried to attack Exploding Rats but failed because the SPEED difference was too great. Deeplurker, River Hellondale, and Wave Brood were forced to direct their attacks at Iidri Fyre. Meanwhile, Swamp Spitter who aimed its attack at the same target failed to land its attack.

In the second round, Exploding Rats attacked Diemonshark and dealt additional damage to Coastal Sentry. Meanwhile, Countess Sinash targeted her attack at River Hellondale and dealt additional damage to Deeplurker and Swamp Spitter. Supply Runner and Lava Launcher managed to defeat Swamp Spitter (although it came back to life thanks to the REBIRTH ability)

Unlike the first round, in the second round, Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry each managed to defeat Exploding Rats. But because Exploding Rats has the REDEMPTION ability, all opposing monsters take the same damage as being hit by a Melee or Ranged monster for 1 point twice (as many times as Exploding Rats is defeated). Then Deeplurker directs its attack at Iidri Fyre and defeats it. Because Iidri Fyre also had REDEMPTION , all of the opponent's monsters took 1 point of damage again. And that made River Hellondale lose for the first time (and was resurrected through REBIRTH ability)

In the third round, River Hellondale was defeated again and this time by an attack from Supply Runner. This time, Countess Sinash targeted Coastal Sentry and managed to defeat it for the first time. The BLAST effect of the attack managed to injure Deeplurker and defeated Diemonshark for the first time.

Grum Flameblade attacked Diemonshark but received a counterattack. Deepurker and Wave Brood defeated Iidri Fyre for the second time but it activated the REDEMPTION effect so all opposing monsters took another 1 point of damage.

In the fourth round, Supply Runner and Lava Launcher* targeted Wave Brood but they received a counterattack from the RETURN FIRE effect ability. Countess Sinash who defeated Deeplurker for the first time was also hit by the RETURN FIRE effect as the additional damage from the attack also hit Wave Brood.

Before it got its turn to attack, Grum Flameblade was defeated twice by Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry respectively. Lava Launcher got attacked due to the effect of TRAMPLE ability after those 2 monsters defeated Grum Flameblade. Unfortunately, the attack from Wave Brood failed to hit Lava Launcher which only had 1 Health point left.

In the last round, Supply Runner defeated Deeplurker again. Countess Sinash surprisingly defeated 3 monsters at once while targeting Coastal Sentry (Diemonshark and Wave Brood were also defeated). The Wave Brood that had just revived, was defeated by Lava Launcher.

Battle Review

The victory this time cannot be separated from my luck in choosing summoners. If I hadn't used Conqueror Jacek the attacks from most of my monsters would have been aimed at Wave Brood which has the TAUNT ability. But with the SCATTER SHOT received from Conqueror Jacek, the attacks from my monsters can target randomly.

In addition to SCATTER SHOT , BLAST and REDEMPTION abilities possessed by some of my monsters are also very instrumental in this battle. REDEMPTION which occurs 4 times in this battle, can defeat 1 opponent's monster during the third activation. Meanwhile, BLAST owned by Countess Sinash along with the addition of SCATTER SHOT , allowed her to defeat 3 monsters at once.
